Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders won the debate’s Google fight — in more ways than one
Usually on debate night, we track what people are searching for on Google as a way of assessing what people are curious about as the candidates tussle.
In that regard, Bernie Sanders eked out a narrow victory, getting more search attention both nationally and in New Hampshire, where it counts ahead of Tuesday's primary.
(snip)
The first and fifth questions, like the question about where Clinton is, are for people to go hear from the candidate. "Why Bernie Sanders" is a question about why his candidacy should be considered.
But none of that matters once you get to No. 4. The fourth-most-Googled question about Bernie Sanders is how can I give him money.

(11,800 posts)it's a shame. I'm a Bernie supporter. I've wanted him to run since he was in the house. My feelings are, we ain't ever gonna get shit done til you take the $ out. That's the main reason he's got my vote.
That being said, she has a very good record of supporting, and voting for liberal causes. She is a wealth of knowledge on foreign affairs. She's been a FLOTUS, a Senator, a Secratary of State, and a 2x presidential candidate. The top ? is how old is she? Seriously? I'm a fucking dude and I'm insulted.

Ironic I guess is a better word but I laughed when I read it. And I'm a woman. But I do see your point. I suppose if it happened to a nicer person who wasn't being so duplicitous and devious I would care more. But since she just used the age thing against Bernie I can't bring myself to.
And maybe there were asking to compare her age to Bernie?
.
Somehow I missed the ageism thing. That's delicious. I get your laughter. But that wasn't directed at you, that was a statement on our society in general. Kinda sad.

(19,926 posts)That cracks me up! After they tried to pull the age thing on him last week. Funny stuff.
These questions are showing Bernie FTW!!!
1. How old is Hillary Clinton?
2. Who can beat Hillary?
3. Where is Hillary Clinton today?
4. Will Hillary win?
5. How much is Hillary Clinton worth?
Clinton is 68 years old, she's worth a lot of money, and today she was in New Hampshire. The other two questions are about if she can win and, if not, to whom she could lose.
Consider those questions in light of the questions people had about Bernie Sanders.
Sanders
1. Where will Bernie Sanders be speaking?
2. Why Bernie Sanders?
3. Who would be Bernie Sanders' VP?
4. How to donate to Bernie Sanders
5. Where can I see Bernie Sanders in NH?
FEEL THE BERN!!!

(2,161 posts)Bernie planted the seed in people's minds tonight, quoting poll numbers showing him beating Trump while Clinton basically tied him. They are now considering whether or not Hillary really is a sure winner, as evidenced by the questions they are asking about her. Can Hillary win? and Who can beat Hillary?
Once people start questioning whether or not she could win in the fall, the entire rationale for her candidacy collapses, other than the first woman president issue.
Once people understand they can vote for the ideas they want AND get the guy most likely to beat the Repubs in the fall, they'll be lining up to vote for Bernie.

(11,800 posts)Still way too early, but I believe the money in politics portion of the debate just poured napalm on the fire. That exchange is exactly what spurred those Google searches. And I gaurantee it wasn't just Democrats either. She can't beat him on domestic policy. Not with the common man who can tell you the names of the President, the VP (if he's "well" informed), and the starting lineups of National division. He knows somethings wrong with country. And at this point, the stench of corruption is making his eyes burn. While I appreciate it, she's too wonky for common man. We're getting to the point people start to pay attention. And they just agreed to 3 more debates. I bet Hillary is regreting that gamble after tonight. Common man just noticed and got on google.
But, while I trust his judgment, Bernie needs some help with foreign policy. Fortunately, the GOP is terrible on foreign policy. Unfortunately, Hillary is terrific on it. She's just too hawkish for me to be my first choice.

Sanders has more than 3 million individual contributions from more than a million donors. He's taken in money at a faster pace than Barack Obama did in 2008 and in January outraised Clinton. Getting a voter to try and figure out how to give is a dream come true for any campaign. Having it trend on Google? Insane.

HRH cannot win against Bernie and his populist message!
