In debate, Hillary Clinton boasted that she is supported by Henry Kissinger, accused war criminal

Hillary Clinton has a long history of supporting former Secretary of State Henry Kissenger

by BEN NORTON

Hillary Clinton boasted in the fifth Democratic presidential debate Thursday night that she is supported by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, an accused war criminal who oversaw policies that led to the deaths of millions of people.

“I was very flattered when Henry Kissinger said I ran the State Department better than anybody had run it in a long time,” she said.

Salon has previously exposed how emails released from Clinton’s time as secretary of state for the Obama administration reveal her close ties to Kissinger. One of the emails suggests that Clinton saw Kissinger as her role model.

Kissinger infamously insisted “The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.”

If the American People had any sense of history this would be a disqualifying factor for her.

Just not favorably, nor does it surprise me.

From watching her she obviously gets excited when talking about death and destruction and I don't think she has ever not laughed while discussing it.

audience. That was one of several low points for her in last night's MSNBC debate hosted by Chuck Todd and Rachel Maddow.

She does much better in town hall format, IMO, when she doesn't seem backed into a corner or on the defensive.

I think for those who watched, they may be left with the impression that, despite her obvious grasp of most issues, she is too often defending her actions or those of her supporters and endorsers and wondering why the public is not enthusiastic about her plans to carry on the status quo.

She appears particularly peeved that 'the young people' are not flocking to her message, but repeats that she will 'be there for them even if they're not here for her'

No large rallies...all small, private, invitation only events, where Camp Weathervane could control everything.

She gets angry, her body position and look on her face show...not presidential.

This boast shows how out of touch she is with the real values of Progressives. The fact that she thought this would help her with the Left of the Democratic Party shows me that she has no clue and that she has spent way too much time with destructive "leaders" like Kissinger, Beltway Washington Consensus and Wall St. It is shocking how very out of touch she is with Progressives. This shows us how she would lead us down even more destructive paths in foreign policy. What a nightmare!

Honestly, affectionately dropping Kissinger's name should be the comment that hangs her campaign out to dry. Progressives should hammer this point with the media.

thinking that praise of the person most Democrats think of as the Anti-Christ. It make me wonder if she has ever associated with Democrats at all.

I really think you can take a 7th grader who thinks they are semi-liberal and ask them about Kissinger. They would look him up and I do not think that their response would be favorable. But to Bill and Hillary he seems to be God.

who had not seen the debate. She found it extremely odd as well that Hill would name-drop him of all people, but then figured much of the audience would be too young to remember him anyway. But for the baby boomers who support her, that still makes no sense. The guy was the architect of a criminal, genocidal campaign throughout Indochina for God's sake--to say nothing of his role in Latin America.

She even wrote a review for his new book, with some interesting admissions: http://america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2014/9/hillary-clinton-honduraslatinamericaforeignpolicy.html

It does sort of make sense from one perspective though, which is that Hillary is all about realpolitik and power, and quite Machiavellian in that way. From that perspective, she is really the natural apprentice to Kissinger's Sith Lord. Of course Kissinger at least got things done (a psychopath who gets things done, as opposed to a progressive who gets things done, I guess), whereas Hillary is busy taking credit for Kerry's work on Iran.

You simply do NOT throw out "Kissinger" and expect liberal Democrats to give you a hearty thumbs up!

Either is was a dog whistle or she really is that deeply out of touch with Liberalism.
