Bernie, taxes, and the right-wing noise machine

More than once I've heard the other side claim, "Bernie wants to tax you at 90%".
I have relatives who are fairly independent repeating this.

I would hope that Bernie could explain his marginal tax rate ideas in a way that is clear so that people of the middle-class could understand that it's not them he's going after. Like that guy at the last townhall that asked him why he wants to raise taxes in his $41K income.

Yeah these people, including my relatives, are pretty much ignorant but I think some would accept him better if this was explained clearly to relieve their fears.

You can tell these folks the absolute truth, show it to them on a computer, and they still won't believe it.

Maybe a few have an open mind. Most hear 'socialist!' and turn off their brains.
