Thomas Jefferson valued the idea of the Yoeman farmer and carried a more 'rural piety,' view of America versus Hamiltons financial and business oriented nation.

Obviously Jeffersons view suffered from the inherent problems of the Souths own aristocracy fueled by slavery. Jefferson knew Hamilton's vision would be a disaster, he was just alas blind to his own mistakes with slavery.
