Here is an interesting thought from the last Democratic Debate

Remember, in the 1930s, Stalin was considered more of a threat to world peace than Hitler because Stalin was a communist and Hitler wasn't.

Let's just reflare up the cold war, Hillary. Your owners at the MIC need more money.

3. 15 years ago, Hillary thought Saddam was a threat, or, at least, said she did.

No Iraqi over 10 would have agreed. No Democrat I know would have agreed. The Beastie Boys knew. Susan Sarandon knew. So many people knew.

I happened to be in the home of a Lebanese immigrant, though she had been born and raised in Syria, when I saw the first tower get hit. She was 74 and suffering from cancer at the time, gone now. She had had very little formal education. She spoke almost no English. Though she claimed she understood English, I don't know how much she really understood.

Immediately after the first hit, I was trying to think what might have gone wrong with the plane or the pilots. The second one, even I knew we would be going to war, but I was not smart enough to know we'd go to war with the wrong country. I said "Ben Laden." The woman whose home I was in responded, "Yes, but they'll try to hang it on Saddam." She was off by very little in that no one said it was only Saddam and not Ben Laden. But she did foresee that the US government was going to use 911 trump up a case against Hussein. I rest my case.

5. I've posted that before. No one else seemed to think it was interesting. I did.

Even more interesting to me:

I was at her home waiting for her son to take me to the airport (Houston) so I could fly back to Boston (where a couple of the planes had taken off from). He called immediately after the first crash to say I was not going anywhere. I could not process what he was saying because I had no idea all planes in the entire nation would be grounded. How did he know? Was it experience from Lebanon? Or is this just something everyone but me knew before 911?

7. As I said, maybe he knew from experience in Lebanon?

Lebanon gets attacked a lot. If not that, then maybe he was CIA posing as a furniture salesman? (only half kidding on the CIA bit)

I didn't know them very well and so did not have the courage to ask.

Yes. Thanks for the post.

Profit is the only thing that explains why we continue these endless wars.

10. Oh wow, come on, now Bernie supporters are taking the same position as Trump!

Come on, Trump agrees with the point being made by the OP. But, it's wrong.

North Korea's not a danger. They're nuts, but obviously one ballistic missile test by an impoverished nation that has no allies is not nearly as dangerous as a nation like Russia, run by right-wing strongman, who has a nuclear arsenal at his fingertips, has numerous allies, and has significant wealth (especially when compared to North Korea).

I'm a Bernie supporter, but by a hair. Too many of his supporters have become assholes, liberal versions of Trump supporters, worshiping him no matter what he says. Bernie is right on many issues, but more than that he's honest, consistent, and ethical. He does not need to be right about everything.

exactly BECAUSE OF their situation as you describe it. USA and Russia will continue with War by Proxy. North Korea does not have that "luxury."

Don't Care if he's experienced in foreign policy! NO MORE WARS doesn't require a lot of foreign policy experience, but that's why all presidents have FOREIGN POLICY ADVISORS. That hit job is another FAIL!
