backed down on. I suppose I shouldn't say we should I? Some of us never did.

Like wish so many things, ACORN being one of my pet peeves. Where was our side calling bullshit and sticking up for that organization? They just ran and hid because the RW meanies were mad about blacks voting. Disgraceful.

only have thought Hillary, champion of African American rights, would have resented their helping Obama be elected. She was on their ass years before.

And I guess you can tell that there really isn't that much love between what is left of ACORN and Clinton.

It is a great station, a lot like the old Pacifica used to be.

11. I can add a Texas twist to the whole ACORN affair.

Our local (Dallas) community radio station (KNON 89.3) was setup by and affiliated with ACORN.

As soon as Obama was elected, the Texas Comptroller called for an audit of said station. In order for the station to survive, they had to come up with the money to do a buyout from ACORN. They are however, still part of Agape Broadcast Inc.

I preferred the ACORN connection. It's hard to survive in Texas if you don't give reverence to "Christian Evangelism".

There is a good piece here showing how Dems eschewed the term "liberal" and much of what it stood for after McGovern's defeat in 1972, which is the opposite of what the Repubs did in response to Goldewater's loss:
