Please add to the following list via response.
Opposed the war in Iraq and warned against the United States getting bogged down in Afghanistan, calling it a costly quagmire like Vietnam.
He says the fight against the Islamic State should be undertaken by countries like Saudi Arabia, which borders Iraq and, he argues, has the financial and military resources to fight the extremist group.
ENVIRONMENT
Has warned about what he calls the severe impact of human-caused climate change. He supports stringent measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including tough standards for new vehicles, as well as some more politically unorthodox ideas, like providing money to study carbon sequestration, or storing carbon dioxide, to delay global warming.
EDUCATION
Proposes that College tuition be free for academically qualified students. (3)
SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
Strongly supports same-sex marriage. Its time for the Supreme Court to catch up to the American people and legalize gay marriage, he said recently.
IMMIGRATION
Supported Mr. Obamas 2014 executive action shielding millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation.
But he has also called for reining in the guest-worker program that provides many businesses with low-wage immigrant labor, saying it fuels youth unemployment.
ECONOMY
Supports increased government spending to generate jobs and rebuild the nations infrastructure.
Would raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour from $7.25, although in early April he called a $15 minimum wage reasonable.
Has proposed breaking up the nations largest banks, saying the six biggest ones wield too much control over the economy.
Proposed barring banks chief executives from serving on the Federal Reserves 12 regional boards of directors, saying their membership on those boards poses a conflict of interest and undermines regulation of the financial services industry.
Vehemently opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership with Asian nations, a trade deal Mr. Obama has championed. Are you on the side of working people who would suffer as a result of this disastrous trade agreement, and seeing their jobs go to China or Mexico? Mr. Sanders said recently. Or are you on the side of corporate America and pharmaceuticals?
Against unhealthy mergers like Comcast and Time Warner. (2)
HEALTH CARE
Supports a Medicare-for-all single-payer health care system.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Proposes spending $1 trillion on upgrading the nation's infrastructure. (4)
GMO Labeling
Says, What I am asking now for the people of America is something that exists right now all over the world. Genetically Engineered foods are already required to be labeled in 49 countries around the world, including Russia, the UK, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Brazil, China, New Zealand, and others, and the entire European Union allows it's countries to allow such labels." This is the first time I have felt hopeful in years!

(62,325 posts)Reading that list is like a dream. Because he walks the walk. It isn't just talk when you look at his record.
And there's more. Women's rights, Social Security, increase benefits, expand SS, and so much more.
I'm with you, I haven't felt this hopeful either in a long time.
And it's up to us.
And I think we can make it happen this time.

(17,997 posts)I always thought that everything was fine
Don't you feel repression just closing in around?
No, the campus here is very, very free
Don't it make you angry the way war is dragging on?
Well, I hope the president knows what he's into, I don't know
Don't you ever see the starvation in the city where you live
All the needless hunger all the needless pain?
I haven't been there lately, the country is so fine
But my neighbors don't seem hungry 'cause they haven't got the time
Thank you for the talk, you know you really eased my mind
I was troubled by the shapes of things to come
Well, if you had my outlook your feelings would be numb
You'd always think that everything was fine
We can make it happen
We can change the world now
We can save the children
We can make it better
We can make it happen
We can save the children
We can make it happen

(62,325 posts)has been so good on.
Thanks for doing this.
I think he can win if we can overcome the inevitable smears, bought and paid, the minute it looks like he's a serious threat to the status quo.
