Is it me, or has DU suddenly become fairly united?
Maybe I am just not seeing it. Or maybe, just maybe, the idea of a candidate with an impeccable record, strong on everything Democrats hold dear, a candidate with unfettered enthusiasm, has made people think, "we don't have to give up anything for something else."
We can make it happen, yeah! We can make it happen!
I always thought that everything was fine
Don't you feel repression just closing in around?
No, the campus here is very, very free
Don't it make you angry the way war is dragging on?
Well, I hope the president knows what he's into, I don't know
Don't you ever see the starvation in the city where you live
All the needless hunger all the needless pain?
I haven't been there lately, the country is so fine
But my neighbors don't seem hungry 'cause they haven't got the time
Thank you for the talk, you know you really eased my mind
I was troubled by the shapes of things to come
Well, if you had my outlook your feelings would be numb
You'd always think that everything was fine
We can make it happen
We can change the world now
We can save the children
We can make it better
We can make it happen
We can save the children
We can make it happen

(1,884 posts)But it is early yet, but we need to get started.
Someone did a DU poll and Bernie was way ahead. Way, way ahead the last I saw it.
Edited to add, found it!

I voted yesterday but it wasn't anywhere near that at the time. Thanks for linking it
I suspect many of the HC people are staying away from the post. You know there are more than 63 people who want Hillary to win. But the Sanders number is encouraging!

(1,884 posts)The Hillery group has 5000 posts! As if that somehow counts for something.
But what really is going to matter, is how well Bernie does with the public. DU is a captive audience, the public is not.
What I am seeing on DU, is overall, is not as far Right as some people seem to think it is. We finally have a viable champion to gather around and support. Someone to fill the void on the Left.
Unlike when Obama was elected the first time, Bernie has a known track record of supporting the people.
This election cycle could get very interesting. I am seeing hope because when Obama was reelected, he swamped out the Republican Election Fraud Machine©. We can do this again in 2016 with GOTV. Start now to get people re-registered as voters, who have been illegally removed from the voting rolls.

(28,749 posts)Hillary is in the lead, to be in denial of this is foolish. However we absolutely can effect change and we all should be doing just that.
I don't think it's fair or a worthwhile use of time to mock someone else's candidate and/or their posts and I'll continue to say that.

(17,997 posts)Absolutely no doubt that Bernie can win this! I just meant that lots of people didn't vote in that

(32,064 posts)that there are not as many third-wayers on this site as I had thought. They're loud but they do not out-number us. That is encouraging.

(17,997 posts)I think they want the same thing as we do, they just don't think there's any way there but the long road.
Others truly believe that HC is something different than what we see.
I really think there are not that many that are just blind and nasty

(32,064 posts)and the ones who are seriously blind/nasty are likely trolls anyway. Discussionist has lured many away but we do still do get some here. Hillary is not a bad candidate, just not my favorite. I like to think we can focus on both economics and civil rights, but that isn't always the case. Some are a little more focused on one than the other (likely due to life experiences) and I know we will come together to support the nominee. For right now my energy and cash will be going to Bernie. <3

It's been rather eye opening.
