Sorry, it's Microsoft Publisher. But if you have that software, it's really easy to edit with info for your state, your own quote, whatever you want to do.

Here's the PDF. If you are sharing flyers in New York and want to use this as it is, feel free.

I added registration deadline.
Sorry it took me so long.

EDIT: I feel like this is already outdated because the platform has evolved in the time it took me to get this together. There's nothing on here about reforming the criminal justice system, ending for profit prisons or demilitarizing police. I understand why #BLM might be like hey, we aren't sure if you are speaking to us. Of course, Bernie is speaking to #BLM because he came to politics as an activist and when he sees other activists, he sees colleagues, not obstacles. There's been such a swift impact, that this flyer seems out-of-date to me. I know this is a whole other conversation, but I have to make note of it. I think I'm someone who is pretty mindful of my own white privilege and conscious of institutional racism, but I see this flyer differently now than I did when I made it. It's still a good flyer, but it is conspicuously incomplete.
I'm going to leave this up as is, but I think I should try again before I print and go around town with it.

(17,045 posts)We can win this.
That's just the first step, but we can do it.
In retrospect it will seem inevitable.

(1,573 posts)I've been actively involved in NY politics (other than voting) for over a decade. I've had to take a break from committee work out of frustration and disillusionment. For the first time in a long while, I actually feel hopeful.

(17,045 posts)...I worked hard and I believed in what I was doing, but I didn't think he could win and I was not this energized and excited. Something very special is happening.

(62,325 posts)totally turned on to Bernie. She asked me 'what do I do to be able to vote for him'. I did tell her she has to register as a Democrat in NY. But I didn't realize she needs to do it NOW. I'll tell her tomorrow.

(17,045 posts)That doesn't seem right.

(1,573 posts)...if someone isn't registered at all, the deadline is much later. NYS Board of Elections political calendar is here:
http://www.elections.ny.gov/PoliticalCalendar.html
However, this is only for 2015, and there is nothing out there yet for 2016. By state law, registration deadlines are generally 25 days prior to an election (2016 presidential primary is in April). I'm going to call on Monday and get a definite answer, but I think if someone is registering for the first time, they should be able to do so up until sometime in March 2016. It's only fuzzy when someone is already registered (not as a Democrat) and wants to change to be a Democrat and able to vote in the primary. I'll let you know what I find out.
