I posted this satire way back in April when it came out
and thought it deserved another view.
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is on pace to adopt rival Bernie Sanderss positions on all major issues by noon on Thursday, Clinton campaign officials have confirmed.
Within minutes of Sanderss entry into the Democratic race, Clinton released position papers on trade, income inequality, national defense, and the environment that meticulously aped the Vermont senators views on those matters.
Awaking at 8 A.M., Sanders, who had planned to run to the left of Clinton in 2016, discovered that, while he was sleeping, she had already begun running slightly to the left of him.
In an online video posted Thursday morning, Clinton welcomed Sanders to the race, adding, To those who agree with Bernie Sanders on the issues, let me say this: I am Bernie Sanders.
Sanders, who had scheduled a speech in Vermont for 11 A.M. on Thursday, cancelled it abruptly, saying, Hillary already said everything I was going to say an hour ago.
The Vermont politician told reporters that now he was unsure whether he would even continue with his campaign. I dont know anymore, he said, visibly shaken. I just dont know.

(5,761 posts)and something I've never agreed with, holding gun manufacturers responsible for an idiot pulling the trigger. Do we hold the liquor industry responsible for people driving drunk and killing someone? Nope. On and on it goes with the scenarios one can put forth here to show how stupid something like this truly is.

(5,761 posts)There is this and I am well aware that the Washington Times is a right leaning paper but it does bring up some good points and all of which are facts. That being said, facts are facts.

And on free trade shes been around the block a couple of times, having entered the 2008 race a supporter, turned opponent during the campaign, then became a supporter again as secretary of state, and now thanks to a flip late last week opposes the very Pacific trade deal she championed as the countrys top diplomat.
This is a classic political decision that you can flip-flop if you flop over to the popular side of an issue, said David Alexrod, a Democratic strategist who advised President Obamas bids for the White House, on CNN. The great risk, though her great liability in this race so far has been this sense that shes been inauthentic. This lurch on this issue opens her up for another charge of inauthenticity.
Sen. Bernard Sanders, the Vermont independent challenging Mrs. Clinton for Democrats presidential nomination, said hell make that very case to voters, and trade will be a chief example. He opposed trade deals with Mexico and Canada, Central America and China.
I think that they have been a disaster for the American worker, allowed corporations to shut down here and move abroad, he said on NBCs Meet the Press Sunday. So people will have to contrast my consistency and my willingness to stand up to Wall Street and corporations, big corporations, with the secretary.

(19,537 posts)Will she switch to Bernie's populist position on "guest worker" (aka indentured servant) programs like H-1B and H-2B from what she strongly supported back in 2007?
If not, I think we should all hammer the CNN site to get a question asked tonight on her position on this! See if she can respond to what the people want and not her financial backers want without articulating an earlier "evolution" on this issue or not.
