(14,177 posts)When I RSVP'd I didn't even notice that I just wanted to watch the debate with other Democrats. When I went to confirm the address time etc... I noticed. I think that is the big thing here. That most of these parties are hosted by Bernie supporters.
Everyone was pleased with Bernie's performance. Everyone agreed she did good taking on Republicans (yes, it's good to be reminded they are the enemy we are all friends no matter who we support), we had 100% agreement Bernie won. I don't think the other candidates were even really there for the rest of the people at the party. I didn't really care either. O'Malley was surprisingly good I think. But, Lincoln and Jim em I don't know why they bothered really.
So, the breakdown demographic wise IIRC was 5 women, 2 under 20 and 3 over 50, I think I didn't ask ages. 3 men, all over 30 one under 50, again just a guestimate. All White except one African American lady. The host lives in Minneapolis the rest of us south of the Minneapolis border.
I love the dog the host has. She is a rescue. Yes, it's important. Because it shows liberals have big hearts.
They didn't pressure people into donating. I donate directly to the campaign so I would have passed if they did.
The debates were magical for us all I think. There was minimal interruption when candidates were speaking. Lots of talking during commercials.
We were pleased with all the issues being brought up. Everyone was happy to see the young guests, me included. I am alway happy to see the next generation pick up the ball instead of letting it go thud.
