To hear them tell it, it's a foolish notion we should shoot for anything other than being just even a liiiiitle bit leftward of today's GOP.

be quiet because maybe they are in the minority. When people stand up, and the more that do, the less these morons will have control of the message.

Propaganda works. IF people allow it to work.

I don't know about all the numbers, but I believe there was a 'peace dividend' at the end of World War 2. Under Eisenhower, the highest marginal income tax rate was over 80%. We had peace and prosperity and American workers enjoyed a strong standard of living. One could work and raise a family and not live below the poverty level. We must return to this aspect of American life, where everyone is a part of democracy. We must reduce military spending as a percentage of gross domestic product. We must spend on our own citizens - it's our money that go into paying for our taxes. Our national security is not being threatened, there is no country that could take us over. We must go back to the principles of peace and prosperity at home and abroad.

Any economic, manufacturing, or military competition to the United States had been bombed nearly flat.
It took Europe and Japan nearly 40 years to rebuild what was lost.
Post WWII American Exceptionalism isn't entirely a myth, but it isn't quite as true as we would like to believe, either.

golden time that we must try to revive and supplement with new approaches for the 21st century. The French, who increased modernization and industrialization and saw economic and wage growth then, call the period (1945-1975) 'Les Trente Glorieuses', the Glorious Thirty. What a prosperous liberal era that was before the oil embargo impacts of the later 1970s and ultraconservative, reactionary governments of Thatcher (1979-1990) and Reagan.

Even before WWII, the USA was recognized as the strongest rising industrial nation due to it's vast size and wealth of resources in terms of materials, lands, people and trade networks. The US is also bordered by two large oceans and was overall superior to Europe and Japan in capacity and industry.

that he recognized since the 1970s. This should be made into a campaign ad and disseminated widely!
Bernie was given his great name by his parents and providence, and with all due respect-- FEEL THE BERN!

Give 'em hell Bernie! Bernin' Down the HOUSE!

People on here who complain that Bernie's negative, loud and shouty and pessimistic don't also see his great humorous side and love of people and life. He's been pointing out the corrupt system for decades to warn and motivate for change for the better.
