24% in Iowa

'Last night, we saw the results we have been waiting for. The Governor came in second place in the Iowa Youth Caucus, earning 24 percent of delegates, and beating Secretary Clinton statewide and in every major Democratic County.

Retail politics pays off.

The Governor has made Iowa a major focus of his campaign—visiting the state and attending more events than any other candidate, with an emphasis on grassroots organizing and building an organization focused on personal connections with Iowans.

Looking back at previous youth caucuses – the results in the 2012 and 2014 general elections have shown they are a fairly accurate gauge of trends and enthusiasm, correctly predicting the results in both of those elections.

After months of TV ads and campaigning, and with 100 percent name ID, Secretary Clinton placed third among the students last night. Third. Statewide, she only beat "uncommitted" by 6 points. That’s a huge blow for the inevitable front-runner.

Polls and punditry mask what's actually going on here in Iowa. There is real enthusiasm for Martin O’Malley on the ground because of his record of actions, not words on key progressive causes. We are in this race to win it.

Match our 24% finish with a $24 donation now.'

Thanks,
Jake
