so should we deal in

homelessness?

(i've already invited people with no job) so i guess we are there...it's so easy to happen to us all?

people that make much more than minimum wage but also spend (overspending) more (75000 a year but spend 70000 on shopping (ridiculous example but still))?

personally i'd like all but the third group in here, but that's me and this is a ...republican state with democratic traditions (cia factbook)

so i'd like some help in making up the rules of the group(people voice)

i personally believe working poor have a lot in common with homeless or unemployed people (most)..most want to have a home and a job..(ok some don't), still...most do which puts them in 'less work / pay than i need' which is us so easily....loose that second job....

1. Hmm.

I think that working poor includes:
1. Homeless people
2. People working but who have to get SNAP or TANF because they don't make enough
3. People working part time because they can't find a full time job
4. People working two jobs because income from one job isn't enough to make ends meet
5. People who cannot afford to live where they work (example people who work service jobs in Vail, CO often have to live many miles away)
6. People who make well above minimum but cannot save because they are paying huge student loan payments each month
7. People who were middle class and live in suburbia but got laid off and are now reemployed in a job that isn't so good but still are sustaining the same amount or more debt - they barely have enough to make ends meet
8. Anyone with less than $10K in savings and who cannot save anything because they don't make enough to

6...as long as it's student loans, if it's house/car/boat/plane payments (overspending) it's another thing

keeping a $500.000 house with $10 savings doesn't make you working poor

3. I think we should accept anyone that

can't fend/are having trouble fending for themselves financially at this time. I'd to go as far as to exclude the folks that have $ but overspend on shiite except even they may be trying to turn over a new leaf. If they are then why not let them in? We all need a little support sometimes

People who have money but can't seem to stop spending might need help making ends meet. Hopefully they'll be getting help controlling their spending, but that seems to be beyond the scope of this group.

All poor people need resources to help them live better, so I'd guess homeless working poor would fit right in here. They may not get a lot of use from some threads, but if they can learn ways to eat better, for example, that's always good, right?
