Another "Accidental" Shooting - 14 Year Old Girl
Colorado Springs Teen Shot, Killed by Stepfather.
Police say a 14-year-old Colorado girl was fatally shot by her stepfather after a report of a burglary at her home.
Colorado Springs police spokesman Larry Herbert said the girl's stepfather fired the shot, but said it was unclear if he had mistaken the teen for a burglar.
Police say the girl was shot around 6 a.m. Monday and later died at the hospital.
The stepfather hasn't been arrested and it will be up to prosecutors to decide whether charges should be filed. Colorado's "Make My Day" law allows residents to defend themselves against intruders. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/colorado-springs-teen-shot-killed-stepfather-21314426

That’s just a fraction of them. And that’s just one week.
Every day in this country, a school goes into lockdown after a bomb or a gun threat, a neighborhood crime or domestic dispute, or a false alarm. To prepare for such events schools must have (as mandated in some states) lockdown drills to train students on what the appropriate lockdown procedures are.
I find myself joining many other parents who worry that in teaching our children how to behave when somebody storms their classroom with a gun, we have unloosed something dramatic upon them without much serious reflection. Lockdowns are simply what we do now. My son’s elementary school was locked down the first week of school this fall when shots were heard in the neighborhood. He tells me they all pack themselves into the closet. He’s 8. But how often should we have lockdowns and why and when and how do they work? Horrific Animal Abuse - Cattle Farm CO

An investigation into a cattle company near Kersey has led to several people being cited for animal abuse, including the animal activist who turned video footage of the alleged abuse over to authorities.
Taylor Radig, who has been associated with animal rights organization Compassion Over Killing, worked as a temporary employee at Quanah Cattle Co. near Kersey from mid-July to September 2013. During that time, Radig filmed hours of alleged cattle abuse at the company and turned her videos into the Weld County Sheriff’s Office two months after she stopped working there, according to a WCSO news release.
When talking to investigators, Radig referred to herself as a “contractor” for the nonprofit animal advocacy organization, which is based in Washington, D.C.
By not reporting the alleged abuse in a timely manner, Radig was seen as negligent and cited for animal cruelty, a Class 1 misdemeanor. She’s also believed to have participated in the cattle abuse incidents reported to the sheriff’s office, the news release said.

Militia nut openly calls for Obama`s assassination on Facebook
The head of the Christian American Patriots Militia has put out an open call on Facebook for the assassination of President Obama.
“We now have authority to shoot Obama, i.e., to kill him,” writes Everest Wilhelmsen on his personal Facebook page.
Wilhelmsen continues: ”His willful violations and alienation of our Constitution, constant disregard for our peaceful protests and corruption of all the three branches of government, (i.e., rogue and illegitiimate government), reveal the dictator that he is…. I would be very surprised, if Obama does not leave Washington DC today (Nov. 19th) …never to return, if he is not dead within the month. ”
Wilhelmsen also has a Facebook page he administers, called Christian American Patriots Militia. The page has 1,389 members.
In addition to simply hating the President, and being convinced that he was born in Kenya and is a Muslim, Wilhelmsen is a supporter of the Tea Party, anti-Obamacare, and very concerned about Benghazi. Oh, and he’s also apparently a big supporter for the 2nd Amendment.

Zero Prosecutions of People SOS Said Voted Illegally - Gessler - CO
Gessler is running for Governor 2014.
Since taking over the Secretary of State’s Office in 2011, Scott Gessler has loudly and repeatedly claimed that non-citizens were illegally voting in Colorado elections.
The Republican, who has long called for a new law requiring people to show proof of citizenship before voting, made national news when he went before Congress that year making a blockbuster statement that 16,270 non-citizens were registered to vote in Colorado and 5,000 of them actually had cast ballots in the 2010 state elections, when Democrat Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican Ken Buck for the U.S. Senate.
But since making those claims, Gessler’s office said it has been able to identify only 80 non-citizens statewide who were on the voter rolls over the past nine elections, representing 0.0008 percent of the more than 10 million ballots that have been cast in those general elections, and those ballots don’t include primary races or local elections that were held during that time.
After years of critics demanding that Gessler forward names of suspected non-citizens whom he said were on the voter rolls, his office referred a list of 155 suspected non-
citizen voters in July to 15 district attorneys across the state, recommending prosecution and issuing a strongly worded statement saying the list was proof the state’s election system is “vulnerable.”
