An Exasperated Chuck Todd Grills Trump: ‘You’re Running for President! Your Words Matter!’
Chuck Todd once again confronted Donald Trump on Meet the Press and appeared to get more and more exasperated with Trump’s false claim that thousands of New Jersey Muslims cheered on 9/11.Todd pointed out that Trump has demanded “pinpoint accuracy” from the media––and at pretty much every rally Trump has called the press “dishonest”––and asked, “Why shouldn’t we demand the same pinpoint accuracy in the claims that you make? Isn’t it hypocritical of you calling us out if we’re not calling you out when you stray from the truth?”
Todd shot back, “That doesn’t make it true!”
Trump said the cheering from Muslims happened “all around the world” so “why wouldn’t it have taken place.”
And when he again bragged about the people telling him he’s right, Todd really went off. He said, “Just because somebody repeats something doesn’t make it true!” He told Trump that he wouldn’t make a business deal based on tweets and hearsay.
“You’re running for President of the United States!” Todd cried. “Your words matter! Truthfulness matters! Fact-based stuff matters!”
Trump responded, “Take it easy, Chuck, just play cool.”

In America, why is terrorism a term reserved specifically for Muslims?

Call the Planned Parenthood Shooting what it is 0

It seems that whenever a white (non-Muslim) shooter is involved in any political shooting, the mainstream media refrains from calling such an act “Domestic Terrorism.” ................

While being arrested, the gunman was reported as saying “no more baby parts.” A reference to a series of videos by an anti-abortion advocacy group. The videos alleged that Planned Parenthood was illegally selling body parts from fetuses for profit. These allegations were debunked and the videos relied on deceptive editing, but the right-wing, including some 2016 presidential candidates, kept on selling the lie.
Despite that the incident is clearly a case of terrorism, America will not collectively call it such. Imagine for a moment, the shooter was Muslim and he walked into the clinic and committed the same act. How fast would the media heads label it terrorism, in such a scenario? Even if Planned Parenthood seems like an off target for an Islamist, the split second we identify the shooter as Muslim, isn’t it likely we will start calling it terrorism quickly?
Here we have a shooter with a clear political motivation, he hates Planned Parenthood, and possibly President Obama. His politics led him to kill three people, which by definition would constitute as terrorism. Despite the facts, America seems to hesitate in calling an act like this “terrorism.” There are other examples as well.

It seems irrational to avoid such a conversation, but America avoids it swimmingly. What happened in Colorado is only another episode of a failed conversation. We must examine this bias, and come to terms with why we avoid labeling people like the Colorado shooter as a “terrorist.” If his name was Ahmed or Abdullah, we’d probably be having a much more vocal discussion about the evils of terrorism.

it is rather telling that members of the Republican Party who are eager to denounce the first sign of violence at a “black lives matter” protest, and who go into a tweeting frenzy over terrorist attacks launched by Muslims, are silent when terror strikes home at a women’s health clinic.

What is the GOP going to do now that the Radical Christian Terrorists are shooting down police officers? Last I heard they were really really really against groups of people targeting police. What are they going to do now that the enemy is themselves? So far it seems as if the right-wing media outlets are going to ignore the one slain and five injured officers because of the building it happened in, doesn't fit their chosen story line.
* If the GOP does not speak up and condemn this crime then they are no different then all those Muslim Clerics who do not speak out against terrorism in the name of Islam.
* Hello everybody, I am reading that some people are saying "we don't know what has happened " well we do. A guy with a gun attacked a building, took hostages and when the police came, gun fire happened and people have died. This is not hard to figure out. Are you for or against attacks?
