Brands all over the world are praying that Trump attacks them, says one publicist

Brands all over the world are praying that Trump attacks them, says one publicist

.................

But perhaps the greatest beneficiary of Trump's bile has been his most-hated foe: the mainstream media. Despite being labeled as "fake news," the "unfair" and "failing" New York Times has seen a tenfold increase in subscriptions since the election.

So beneficial is Trump's Midas grope that it's likely we'll see more brands clamoring to get in on the protest points.

............

Through his puffed-up ego, Trump is apparently unaware that by tweeting his opprobrium he is giving his antagonists a fantastic platform.

When trying to cut through the noise, it is often outrage that rises above all else. It's a long-held view in the world of publishing that books by first-time writers that receive negative reviews are more likely to do well than those that are praised. To paraphrase Joseph Conrad, there's a fascination to the abomination.

It is one of the oldest tricks in the public relations playbook to provoke the beast. As a promoter with an edgy show to sell, the best you can hope is for it to be picketed by the irate and narrow-minded.

Preliminary Impeachment Inquiry Filed Against President Trump

A top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee has filed a "resolution of inquiry" into President Donald J. Trump. It can be considered a step toward the impeachment process because of the information sought in this case. The last time a resolution of inquiry was considered on the House floor was in 1995, against then-President Bill Clinton related to financial aid for Mexico.

Congressman Jerrold Nadler, (D-NY) filed the inquiry; Nadler is the second ranking Democrat on the House
Judiciary Committee, which responds to such filings. He offered the following statement on his resolution:

"Donald Trump has refused to step away from his business interests in any meaningful way. His foreign entanglements are likely unconstitutional, he has repeatedly refused to disclose his financial assets, and he is clouded by the specter of Russian intervention in the election and his Administration.”

The inflammatory card was among of collection in a bag compiled Valentine’s Day party the Central Michigan University College Republican’s hosted Wednesday night;that bag was then handed to students sitting in Anspach hall, according to a post from the student group.

A photo of the Valentine hit Facebook and Twitter Wednesday night and the group posted an apology to Facebook while fielding angry messages.

Hillary Mic Drop: Clinton tweaks Trump over unanimous appeals court ruling against travel ban

‘3-0’: Hillary Clinton tweaks Trump over unanimous appeals court ruling against travel ban
https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/829846842150096896

Earlier Thursday evening, the San Francisco-based appeals court declined to block a lower court’s ruling from last Friday that suspended key parts of a Trump executive order restricting immigration. The Trump order, signed Jan. 27, barred all refugees from the U.S. for 120 days and blocked all travel from seven majority-Muslim countries for 90 days.

The executive order led to chaos at many airports as border officials scrambled to enforce the ruling, with the administration initially saying it would apply to green-card visa holders before reversing itself. Protests erupted at airports where travelers were in transit when the order was signed were initially detained.

Ban Torched — Again... 3-0 Unanimous Ruling... Supreme Court Showdown Almost Certain... TRUMP ALL-CAPS FURY: ‘SEE YOU IN COURT’...

In a major setback for the Trump administration, a federal appeals court on Thursday declined its urgent request to restore the controversial executive order restricting refugees and travel by immigrants from a number of Muslim-majority countries.

Rejecting arguments that the government would be “irreparably harmed” if the judicial system reviewed President Donald Trump’s immigration ban, which he premised on his authority over national security matters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit determined unanimously that the judiciary has a proper role in safeguarding people’s rights.

“To the contrary, while counseling deference to the national security determinations of the political branches,” the court said, “the Supreme Court has made clear that the Government’s authority and expertise in [such] matters do not automatically trump the Court’s own obligation to secure the protection that the Constitution grants to individuals, even in times of war.”

Citing an important Bush-era Supreme Court precedent on national security, the 9th Circuit took issue with the Trump administration’s argument that it had no business or power to review the legality of the president’s executive order ― or that it would violate the separation of powers for the court to do so.
