Police WANTED Warrant: 'If You Go With What Was Reported 1st Night-There Would Have Been An Arrest'

Trayvon Martin Case: Police Wanted Warrant To Arrest George Zimmerman, Prosecutor Says

The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case said that the Sanford Police Department asked the state attorney's office for an arrest warrant to charge George Zimmerman early in the investigation, but the state's attorney's office decided to wait.

"If you go with what was reported in the press the first night, there would have been an arrest right away, but obviously something gave investigators pause,"the source said to the Herald.

War with Iran would be a cash cow-BUT-Full-On War, that’s the mother lode.

For people in the national/homeland security business, war with Iran would be a cash cow. They and their clients stand to benefit handsomely. Just stoking fears of war can get money flowing, from studies to retrofitting naval vessels. Bombing would be better, as even something as small as the Libyan war involved spending more than a billion dollars. But full-on war, that’s the mother lode. An invasion followed by an Iraq-style lingering occupation and reconstruction would open up hundreds of billions and possibly even trillions of taxpayer dollars for the grabbing.

‘Broccoli’ was the key moment. - By Josh Marshall

The Shame of It All

It’s easy to imagine that two generations of aggressive judicial advocacy and court-packing was leading up to this moment yesterday before the Supreme Court. This would be the prize.

For all of those who thought the conservative judicial push was principally about stuff like Roe v. Wade, as some have suggested to me over the last day or so, just go to a Federalist Society meeting. The real issue has always been the regulatory state. In any case, it is the height of judicial activism for the Court to consider striking down legislation on grounds that was barely considered — certainly not in the mainstream of jurisprudence — only two years before when the legislation was being considered. But what struck me more was how the the critical questions from the conservative bloc on the Court grappled so little with the actual economic role of health care provisions in society and the systemic market failure. These would seem to be precisely the issues the Commerce Clause is meant to address. Simply because the problem is serious doesn’t mean every possible solution is constitutional. But again, no real grappling with the practical issues the law was meant to address but rather a hyper-focus on academic and ideological points.

‘Broccoli’ was the key moment.

5 Ways Modern Men Are Trained to Hate Women

.........................

All those wars we fight? Sure, at the upper levels, in the halls of political power, they have some complicated reasons for wanting some piece of land or access to some resource. But on the ground? Well, let me ask you this -- historically, when an army takes over a city, what happens to the women there?

It's all about you. All of it. All of civilization.

So where you see a world in which males dominate the boards of the Fortune 500, and own Congress, and sit at the head of all but a handful of the world's nations, men see themselves as utterly helpless. Because all of those powerful people only became powerful because they heard that women like power.

This is really the heart of it, right here. This is why no amount of male domination will ever be enough, why no level of control or privilege or female submission will ever satisfy us. We can put you under a burqa, we can force you out of the workplace -- it won't matter. You're still all we think about, and that gives you power over us. And we resent you for it.

Specter: 'Mitt Romney Has Changed Positions More Often Than A Pornographic Movie Queen'

Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked him about what he thought was the future for the Republican party.

"Well, the Republican party has moved so far to the right, you can't recognize Mitt Romney. What Mitt Romney will appear in October?" said Specter.

Paraphrasing a recent joke by Bill Maher, Specter said, "Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen."

The joke drew awkward chuckles, and co-host Joe Scarborough defended the joke as something a comedian would say, and then he cut to footage from Specter's standup routine.
