Karl Rove loses it after Fox guest calls Chris Christie report a ‘whitewash’
I grant you that this does not exonerate him, Rove remarked. But I think youre missing this is part of a process. And now we have a third party that has looked at all this information and gushed it out!
Its not a third party! Fournier observed.
Yes, it is a third party, Rove shot back.
In conclusion, Wallace noted that Rove, Strassel and Fournier were the least collegial panel Ive ever seen.

Hobby Lobby's "Christian Values"
Oooof! Christie Insults Adelson; GOP In Full Panic
Christie Raises Eyebrows With 'Occupied Territories' RemarkChristie
Apologizes To Donor In Private Meeting
................................
Just when you thought Christie's disastrous week couldn't get any worse, it does. Christie lost the $100,000,000 dollar Sheldon Adelson primary today by insulting him and his guests in Las Vegas.
Adelson, a notorious Likudnik, hosted a number of 2016 hopefuls this afternoon. One after another, they groveled on their knees for Adelson's cash by shamelessly pandering on Middle East policy. But then it happened. Running his big mouth, Christie described the West Bank as.... wait for it... "the occupied territories". Yikes!
Now it doesn't sound like a big deal to a person living in a reality based community. It's merely a neutral descriptive term. But it causes wingnuts on Mid East issues to flip out. They prefer the Orwellian term "disputed territories".
Then making matters worse, one of Adelson's cronies attempted to correct Christie and Christie reflexively bullied him:
A prominent Jewish leader, Morton A. Klein, said he tried to correct Mr. Christie as he left the stage, urging him to use different language, like disputed territory. Mr. Christie, he said, scowled and did not say whether he would do so in the future. I was shocked, said Mr. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America.

In response, there were some "audible murmurs" in the crowd, according to Time magazine's Zeke Miller, who was in the room.
The term "occupied territories" is a cause of dispute and controversy. Palestinians, along with the United Nations, consider the West Bank to be Palestinian, but under military occupation by Israel. Israel says that the land is "disputed," arguing the Palestinians do not have a legitimate claim to all of it.
Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, downplayed the concerns, telling CNN Christie "wasn't trying to set policy. He just misspoke in the moment."

An Actually Weak President
...........................
When Dick Cheney appeared at American University on March 28th, students protested outside Bender Arena, including the student governments comptroller, who stated that he had voted against allowing Cheney to appear and had so far refused to sign a check compensating the former vice-president for his appearance. The protesters brought enough attention to the issue that Cheney felt compelled to defend himself against accusations that he is a war criminal.
.........................................
Perhaps one could argue that America had some kind of mandate to contain Iraq resulting from the Persian Gulf War and, therefore, our decision to invade that country and remove its leadership cannot be judged by the same type of standard we used to condemn Saddam Husseins invasion of Kuwait or Vladimir Putins annexation of Crimea. If you want to try to carve out some of kind of double standard for America arising from our unique capabilities and responsibilities for maintaining the international system, I think we can have that debate. But its much harder to even imagine how one might justify our governments decision to torture people during the Bush-Cheney administration.
This effort to simply call it something other than what it was is never going to fly. And, on that basis, Dick Cheney is unambiguously a criminal violator of human rights. But why do people have such an easy time condemning Cheney, or even Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz and Rice, and such a hard time condemning George W. Bush?
It seems one of the lasting features of the Bush administration is that people simply dont think that Bush was calling the shots and, as a result, they are inclined to give him a pass on the decisions he made.

Give it up for Suvir Mirchandani from the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania. He's a smart kid.
We Need More Kids Like This

It took a 14 year old kid to discover that the federal government can save an estimated $136,000,000 annually by simply deciding to print all documents with a Garamond font. The reason? The font uses thin strokes and therefore less ink than other fonts. Since Hewlett-Packard ink costs twice as much per ounce as Chanel No. 5, there is a lot of money to be saved by cutting down, even marginally, on how much ink each character consumes.
So, give it up for Suvir Mirchandani from the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania. He's a smart kid.
