Romney's insult to women on equal pay - By Lilly Ledbetter

Romney's insult to women on equal pay
By Lilly Ledbetter, Special to CNN
updated 2:02 PM EDT, Tue April 24, 2012

.........

It's not a hypothetical question. Women get paid just 77 cents for every dollar a man gets. That means a woman would have had to work from January 1, 2011, until this Tuesday to match what men earned in 2011 alone.

Romney's team has certainly had enough time to think about its candidate's positions -- he's been running for president for six years -- and about the law in question, which was the very first one that Barack Obama signed as president more than three years ago.

But Romney's team drew a blank. The line went silent. Crickets. When an adviser finally piped up, it wasn't to answer the question. It was to tell the reporter, "We'll get back to you on that."

The Republican nominee for president doesn't know whether he supports the principle of equal pay for an equal day's work? He needs some time to think about it? What an insult.

"Smedley? Show these lovely people waving their Bibles and their rubber fetuses the door, will you?"

'I'm Mitt Romney': A Further Explanation
By Charles P. Pierce
at 11:50AM

.................

... God, you people are saps. You didn’t see this coming? I pandered and I pandered, and then, every night, I went back to my hotel room, stuck my fingers down my throat, and then had a good laugh. You think that whole “Etch-a-Sketch” thing was a staff blunder? Honkies, please. Could I have signaled more clearly that your audience with me was over? Smedley? Show these lovely people waving their Bibles and their rubber fetuses the door, will you? Lovely to have met you. Really. We must do this again some time. Say, if we’re all really lucky, and I’ve always been luckier than you poor deluded hayshakers, maybe the summer of 2015? It’s a date. We have a lovely parting gift for you.

Me.

Haven't you goobers caught on yet? I am running for president because I am supposed to be president. That is the essence of my political philosophy. That is the basic tenet of my fundamental ideology. I should be president because I am rich and handsome and my great-granchildren are already financially bulletproof to the point where, if my pals in the financial-services "industry" crash the economy completely, and animal hides become the medium of exchange again, my great-grandchildren will have more pelts than anyone else, and they will rule the world. I should be president because I should be president. And because...

I'm Mitt Romney, bitches, and I'm all you got left.

Well Well Well...Romney-World Linked To Wall Mart Mexican Bribery Scandal/Cover-up

Wal-Mart executive in bribery coverup works at Romney equity fund

A Democratic source emails with an interesting tidbit linking Romneyworld to the Wal-Mart coverup exposed by the New York Times.

Turns out, the former Wal-Mart CEO who helped shut down an investigation of bribery by store officials in Mexico is an operating partner at a private equity fund started by Mitt Romney, his eldest son and his campaign finance director.

H. Lee Scott Jr. became an operating partner at the Romney fund, Solamere Capital, eight months after he left Wal-Mart in 2009. Solamere's partners and investors include major Romney campaign donors and staffers. Romney was a senior adviser and the first investor in the fund, putting up $10 million.

The Times reported that Scott rebuked internal investigators for being too agressive in uncovering bribery by store officials in Mexico. The investigators allegedly found credible evidence that some $24 million in bribes allowed the store to dominate the market in Mexico, but Scott and others hushed up the investigation until the Times disclosed it Sunday.

The link was first reported by the Boston Globe, where I did some extensive reporting on the $250 million private equity fund last fall. Romney resigned from his role in advising the fund when he announced his run for president, but his son and his campaign finance director, Spencer Zwick, remain managing partners. Scott is still an operating partner.

Father Of -OBAMACARE- On Verge Of Officially Becoming - The PRESUMPTIVE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE

Father of Obamacare on verge of officially becoming the presumptive Republican nominee
byJed Lewison

If Tuesday brings victory for Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania, it'll finally be official:

In an interview with ABC News in Scottsdale, Ariz., RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said that “Tuesday is going to be very important” as the committee moves to “further accelerate the communication between the RNC and Governor Romney’s campaign.”

While Priebus said the RNC would continue to “show respect” for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul, Tuesday’s primaries will pave the way toward a “complete and total merger between the RNC and the presumptive nominee.”

That means continuing to link up fundraising — a process that has already started — as well as integrating the RNC and the campaign’s communications shops, their political, ground and get-out-the-vote operations.

So, congratulations, GOP. You just won yourself the father of Obamacare.

Taxpayer-Funded Crisis Pregnancy Centers Using Religion To Oppose Abortion

Taxpayer-Funded Crisis Pregnancy Centers Using Religion To Oppose Abortion

WASHINGTON -- If you want to help carry out the anti-abortion mission of the taxpayer-funded Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center, you have to be a Christian.

It's right there on the Rapid City, S.D., center's volunteer application.

"Do you consider yourself a Christian?" "If yes, how long have you been a Christian?" "As a Christian, what is the basis of your salvation?" "Please provide the following information concerning your local church. Church name … Denomination ... Pastor's name." "This organization is a Christian pro-life ministry. We believe that our faith in Jesus Christ empowers us, enables us, and motivates us to provide pregnancy services in this community. Please write a brief statement about how your faith would affect your volunteer work at this center."

But that hasn't stopped the center from receiving federal funding and other forms of government support.

In 2010, it was awarded a $34,000 "capacity building" grant as part of President Obama's stimulus bill.
