A Letter to WaPo re: John Kelly That Won't Make the Paper

Dear Washington Post and John F. Kelly:

I am the daughter and niece of three WWII veterans. My Dad served aboard the USS Radford, DD/DDE 446, a ship of brave men who saved 446 sailors from the USS Helena during extreme torpedo and kamikaze strikes.

My Uncle Louis, an only son, was snatched from school when he was 20 years old to serve in the Army, 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division (Checkerboard) and sent to Belgium in December, 1944. He rose from Private to Sergeant when he was killed on this day, February 7, 1945. He won a purple heart for being killed and 2 bronze stars for bravery.

My Uncle Pat spent time in the Brig because he led protests against stupid people leading sailors to their deaths.

You, sir, have disgraced my father and uncles. My Dad was a Republican, my Uncle Skeets was too young to think about politics, my Uncle Pat found both parties ridiculous. What they had in common was a love for this country. What they all sacrificed in their youths was worth it to them for their love for this country.

You, sir, have sided with someone who hates women, Hispanics, Muslims, our Intelligence Community, the DOJ, FBI, Judicial Branch and basically our military. You have decided to reject your oath of office to our Constitution and laws of the land to protect a predator and autocrat. You have disgraced your uniform and rejected your oath. My comfort is that my Dad and Uncles didn’t live to see this day.

I think people hate this president because they love this country.

Huckabee Sanders: Dems need to decide if they 'hate' Trump 'more than they love this country'

Huckabee Sanders: Dems need to decide if they 'hate' Trump 'more than they love this country'

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that Democrats need to decide if they “hate” President Trump “more than they love this country” after Trump slammed Democrats who didn’t applaud during his State of the Union address.

“Democrats refuse to celebrate the accomplishments of last year that have helped all Americans,” Huckabee Sanders told reporters during Tuesday’s White House press briefing. “What I don’t understand and what I don’t think the country understands is why Democrats are so upset about lower taxes and higher wages.”

“That’s something that every American should be celebrating, not crying about, not sitting on their hands for,” the press secretary continued. “Democrats are going to have to make a decision at some point really soon: do they hate this president more than they love this country? And I hope the answer to that is ‘no.’”

Welcome to Trumps America

This guy approached me on the metro and asked if I was American, if I spoke English. I replied yes and ignored him. When waiting outside he approaches me again and asks where my genetics are from, if I’m from Korea. I ask him why do you wanna know and this happened.
