"Gahhaha." Hey, I think Jindal and Walker are jokes too. Who doesn't?

Hey, I think Jindal and Walker are jokes too. Who doesn't?

by digby

This article by Dan Balz predicting that the great Republican hope will emerge from the ranks of Governors seems like it could have been written in 1998, but I wonder if maybe one of his editors forgot to take out some notes:

Walker and Jindal could be two of a number of governors who become presidential candidates in the future.

gahhaha.

That's what it says. And I can certainly understand someone having that reaction.

Presenting: The Whizzinator

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) — A man accused of using a prosthetic penis to try to pass a drug test is now facing charges in eastern Missouri.

Authorities allege that 34-year-old Sydney Levin was submitting a urine sample last week as part of his probation when an officer allegedly spotted him using a prosthetic known as a Whizzinator. The prosthetic is advertised as a discreet device that includes synthetic “medical grade urine.”

Levin, of Lake St. Louis, was charged last week with possessing a forging instrument, KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/11SXafU) reported. He was arrested and released after posting $25,000 bond, and pleaded not guilty on Monday.

Levin was on probation for possession of a controlled substance and felony stealing in 2009. Authorities said Levin’s probation required that he submit a urine sample as part of drug test.

How Obama Decided God Was OK With Marriage Equality (cites: Golden Rule)

WASHINGTON — In 2004, Barack Obama cited his Christian faith while explaining his opposition to same-sex marriage. "What I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it's not simply the two persons who are meeting," he said.

Eight years later, he cited his faith again when he became the first sitting president to endorse marriage equality.

"When we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it's also the Golden Rule, you know? Treat others the way you'd want to be treated," Obama said.

What changed in Obama's understanding of the Bible and Christianity between 2004 and 2012 is one of the last mysteries of his transformation from opponent to champion of marriage equality. While the president has explained this evolution in personal and political terms — citing conversations with gay friends, and the changing attitudes of the public — he has never directly explained how he came to believe that God approves of same-sex marriage.

Woman fired from KFC for being homeless

Woman fired for being homeless
KFC manager's version changes

A Tupelo woman hired earlier this month by a KFC was fired Monday after the franchise owner discovered she’s homeless.

....................

A document signed by that location’s general manager on March 12 confirms Jasica had been hired to perform “prep work” and would receive a paycheck every two weeks.

But when Jasica reported for duty Monday, franchise owner Chesley Ruff withdrew the job offer upon learning she lived at the Salvation Army.

“He told me to come back when I had an address and transportation,” Jasica recalled. “But how am I supposed to get all that without a job?”

Tupelo woman fired for being homeless has new job

A woman fired from a KFC in Tupelo for being homeless has found a new job and an outpouring of support.

Eunice Jasica was tentatively hired Tuesday by On Time Transportation to shuttle Medicaid and Medicare patients to and from doctors’ appointments. She still must complete the final stages of her application process but should be on the job by early April, said the company’s office manager, Yolanda Baskin.

Greg Palast UNCOVERS: How Bush won the war in Iraq - really! (Worse Than "Blood for Oil" Far Worse)

How Bush won the war in Iraq - really!
By Greg Palast for Vice Magazine

If you thought it was "Blood for Oil"--you're wrong. It was far, far worse.

Because it was marked "confidential" on each page, the oil industry stooge couldn't believe the US State Department had given me a complete copy of their secret plans for the oil fields of Iraq. Actually, the State Department had done no such thing. But my line of bullshit had been so well-practiced and the set-up on my mark had so thoroughly established my fake identity, that I almost began to believe my own lies.I closed in. I said I wanted to make sure she and I were working from the same State Department draft. Could she tell me the official name, date and number of pages? She did.

Conspiracy nuts think George Bush, from the moment he took office, had a secret plan to control Iraq’s oil. They’re wrong. Bush had TWO plans. Here they are. One crafted by neo-conservatives at the Pentagon, another by the State Department and Big Oil. This is the history of the secret cold war between these two power elites that drove the hot war on the Tigreso.

This pic needs to go viral - everything we have known and worse in one astounding jpg.
...........................

But the truth in the confidential Options for Iraqi Oil Industry was worse than "Blood for Oil". Much, much worse.

The key was in the flow chart on page 15, Iraq Oil Regime Timeline & Scenario Analysis:

"...A single state-owned company ...enhances a government's relationship with OPEC."

Let me explain why these words rocked my casbah.............

Confederate flag at old N.C. Capitol to be removed

Confederate flag at old N.C. Capitol to be removed

By Michael Biesecker | ASSOCIATED PRESS MARCH 30, 2013

A Confederate flag is on display at the old Capitol, which houses the governor’s office and hosts government events.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Confederate battle flag hung inside the old North Carolina State Capitol to mark the sesquicentennial of the Civil War is being taken down after civil rights leaders raised concerns.

Cultural Resources Secretary Susan Kluttz said Friday night that the intent of the exhibit was to represent the State Capital as it was in 1863.

Kluttz said the exhibit was temporary. But since she’s learned that Governor Pat McCrory plans to use the old House chamber as working space, the display will come down this weekend.

The flag was to remain on display through April 2015.

Not on a battlefield — inside a school.
