CNN’s Christiane Amanpour: Netanyahu Speech Was ‘Strangelovian’

It was a very dark Strangelovian speech painting the picture of a dystopian world, raising the spectre of a genocidal nation, a genocidal regime spraying nuclear weapons to annihilate the whole world and the whole region. Now, obviously many people are very concerned about Iran and there is a deep lack of trust, but surely the same was said of the Soviet Union all those years ago.

Nancy Pelosi: "I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister's speech-saddened by the insult..."

“That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation."

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi appeared visibly angry during the latter half of the speech, frequently gesticulating to House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer and declining to stand when Mr. Netanyahu said the deal being worked on with Iran is a bad deal.

Reagan Adviser Describes Teaparty: "Yes they are really rather stupid & not very well read"

Last week at CPAC potential Republican candidates were invoking President Ronald Reagan ad-nauseam. Ed Schultz asked Bruce Bartlett, former adviser to President Ronald Reagan, how would Reagan have been treated at CPAC.

“I think he probably would be booed out of the crowd,” Bruce Bartlett said. “If only because he gave amnesty to illegal aliens back in 1986. Nativists like Representative Steve King routinely denounce Reagan for that. They would have denounced him for raising taxes eleven times. They would be have denounced him for raising the debt limit. They would have denounced him for running budget deficits. They would have denounced him for supporting labor unions. … And we are not even getting into all the Liberal things that he did as governor such as signing the most Liberal abortion law in the United States. I think this guy definitely would not be a favorite of this crowed.

Ed Schultz then asked if it is that Conservatives and CPAC attendees just do not know their history.

“Well I guess they have completely forgotten about George W. Bush whom they defended to the heavens when he was in office,” Bruce Bartlett said. “But yes they are really rather stupid and not very well read. To them Reagan is a distant figure in history.”

A 22-year-old was recently sentenced to two years in prison for lying to agents, just like Petraeus

Fort Mill Woman Sentenced to 24 Months Imprisonment for Lying to Federal Agents
U.S. Attorney’s Office
December 15, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC—United States Attorney Bill Nettles stated today that Kirstie Elaine Philome Barratt, age 22, of Fort Mill, South Carolina was sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment today after earlier pleading guilty to making a false statement to a federal agent, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001. United States District Judge Joseph F. Anderson, Jr. imposed the term of imprisonment, which will be followed by a 3 year term of supervised release. In October, Barratt plead straight up to the charge without a plea agreement. Barratt also may face deportation as a result of her guilty plea. During the sentencing hearing, Judge Anderson granted the government’s motion for an upward departure from the federal guidelines sentencing range of 0 to 6 months, noting that this was a “rare” case and that Barratt “knowingly placed a law enforcement officer’s life in jeopardy” by her false statement.

Colin Powell to make statement saying he also used his private email while in office

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell to make statement saying he also used his private email while in office, a time when the State Department's computer system was famously obsolete

CHARLES PIERCE - The Clinton Rules: "Every glitch is a crime, and every blunder is a conspiracy"

Hillary Finds A Rake To Step On: The First Clinton Bombshell
Hillary Clinton's use of a private email account at the State Department raises questions and sparks conspiracy theories.

.................

What, precisely, is this woman's major malfunction? For going on 30 years, she has been the target of every strange conspiracy theory that the half-bright mind of man can dream up. She knows they're out there, pining to have a coldie with Vince Foster at the cocktail lounge of the Mena Airport. Just in the past six years, she's watched the Benghazi, Benghazi! BENGHAZI! dreamscape blossom lushly with the wilder flora planted in the public mind by the seedpod that is the brain of Darrell Issa. So she knew that what began with a bust-out Ozarks land deal had not faded just because her husband had skated through his second term. And still, we have this.

Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act. It was only two months ago, in response to a new State Department effort to comply with federal record-keeping practices, that Mrs. Clinton's advisers reviewed tens of thousands of pages of her personal emails and decided which ones to turn over to the State Department. All told, 55,000 pages of emails were given to the department. Mrs. Clinton stepped down from the secretary's post in early 2013.

And let a thousand paranoids bloom.

She had to know what this would mean because she's lived her whole life under The Clinton Rules, by which every glitch is a crime, and every blunder is a conspiracy. It's not entirely fair, and we'll get to that in a minute, but somebody on the nascent campaign should have been D'd up for this kind of thing. A campaign by Hillary Clinton is a different thing, and anyone who doesn't know this by now is somebody who needs burping on the half-hour. This screw-up has all the earmarks of a campaign still laboring under the ghost of Mark Penn.

"You both kill far more people than you can eat."

Qabalist teacher Ann Davies told a story about a U.S. Army general negotiating with a cannibal chief in New Guinea during World War II. The general wanted the chief to rally his tribe to help American troops fight the Japanese. The chief refused, calling the Americans immoral. The general was shocked. "We are not immoral!" he protested. "The Japanese are immoral!" The cannibal chief replied, "The Japanese and Americans are equally immoral. You both kill far more people than you can eat."
