Comparison of the shooter "Cop in Ferguson" & Percy Whitmore the character acting in"The green Mile"

It's been bugging me, and suddenly I got it. They really remind me of each other.

I know, and no lawsuit ought to ensue, that one is a character actor portraying a psychopathic sadist in a movie and the other just possibly acted it out for real in the streets of Ferguson.

Ever since I saw the photo of Darren Wilson I have been disquieted about thinking I have seen him before.........and then the light bulb turned on.

I'll turn it on with interest.

Looking out my attic window in Germany I decided to go for a bike ride

A few photos from that ride, these are memories that feel good; the weather was wonderful.

My bike rides were soothing and exhilarating. The city I was in was flat as a pancake and I felt as if I were riding like the wind.
Since coming home I had my own bike overhauled, and I’m back on it. But it’s hilly and way more difficult.

Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher - No, I’m not kidding.

Germans legitimately can and do make up words that imply entire concepts.
This is a word for a tool that causes
"Egg shells being deliberately broken in designated places”

I took this photo for you to show I'm not making this up, "they" did.

While you are, hopefully, laughing, take a look at how German compares to other languages

Couple of thoughts @ contests. Pet peeve reference at the end is fleeting and sarcasm icon applies

We may want to make a new rule that only one third of the entries ought to go into the finals. With fewer entries now a given there have been times where every other photo or so was in the finals. (We've had only one full set of 30 entries in over a year, I think)
I think 10 finalists when there were 20 or so submissions dulls the excitement of the contests.
Host determines how many at the start of the contest, once submissions are closed.

You are discouraged from voting for yourself (honor system, LOL)
yet if you are a photographer, especially one with an entry, you have a moral obligation to cast a vote.

and after your vote
ask Skinner nicely, but in a public message, to make the polls anonymous. Once a month, right after you vote.

And a question to the many photographers who are no longer submitting:
WHY? What is YOUR reason?
And how can we lure you back to join in again.

Not a really big deal photo - but a cute story

In order to get into this church I had to call and get them to open it for me. It's called the "Luther Church".
Bicycling to it at the appointed time I had to ask a local youth for directions. "Luther Church" do you know where it is?

She looked at me and said: "Catholic or Protestant?"
I said: "Luther'

She said: "I apologize for my ignorant question" and then gave me directions.

BTW
I ended up in a dark church, and no lights were turned on for me which i can fully understand. It is an Art Deco masterpiece. Once i've worked with the photos (taken in the dark) I may post some more.

I'm adding this link to the "Carmina Burana" performed in this church, found it while poking around for a link to show you it's grandeur.

Today I was outside to breathe for a few minutes

It was the day to clean out and vacate my Mom’s studio apartment in the old age home where she lived the last 9 years.
Sunshine and green helped my mood.
