my sister has COVID for the 2nd time in under 30 days
My sister (62 years old) is very sick and has been diagnosed with COVID for the 2nd time under 30 days. She was informed by the PA at the Urgi-care in Cincinnati that "the 3 months of immunity is not applicable to the current strain of COVID" . Her in-laws had wedding last weekend. More than 1/2 of the 25 people at the wedding are sick and are, as my sister put it "wet washrags" She is double vaxxed and twice boosted.
I just hosted two Students from Japan for ten weeks
I loved my experience hosting two young women from a university in Hiroshima. We spent many hours around the dinner table communicating. They were English literature majors. But they we tentative with understanding spoken English . We loved each other and taught each other so much. Now we video chat and it’s still our practice to take as long as it takes to understand what we are attempting to convey. I am going to be a host mother to two more students from Japan. I asked my girls to write letters to the nest students who will live with me. So they wrote it in Japanese.Tell me how to post pictures and I will show the letters here and if anyone reads Japanese with hearts drawn all over, you could tell me what they wrote.

watching Impeachment...thinking about how meta this is
the building and people where this happened. talking about the building and the thing that happened. and we watch, and once again, its like watching it on January 6, again . feeling it again. and then back to the idea that they are in the exact place of where it happened. The Tree of Life shooting resulted in the building being closed down since 2018,since it happened. The survivors who were there are still struggling. That the Capitol is full and functioning, that this public retelling and reliving is happening, is breathtaking. It is inarguable that orange hitler needs to be convicted.
