Vin Weber - the perfect Romney spokesman

I just watched Weber try to explain the Romney faux pas yesterday.

The summary? It was an apology, (from the embassy) it didn't work, therefore it was proper for Romney to attack Obama.

For those who don't know Weber, or tried their damnedest to forget about him, he was a pre-Bachmann entity from Minnesota. He was called either the most conservative, or most ridiculous congresscritter on more than one occasion.

He's a flag-burning member of PNAC, the neocon group which wants to nuke the Middle East into a glassy plain (except for israel), and was a staunch opponent of women's rights.

Serving as Romney's economic advise makes perfect sense. After all, Weber was one of the several Congresscritters who routinely bounced checks on the House Bank (a convenience that allowed congressmen grab some cash at odd hours). more than 100 checks totaling many thousands were kited by Weber, leading to his ouster from the House.

If Romney can promote himself as a business guru, after destroying jobs, companies, and livelihoods, then Weber is the perfect economic advisor for him.

John Husted, not just a cheat, but a gutless cheat.

Pity the State of Ohio.

Not only have they suffered self-inflicted wounds from various pols and legislation, the state has now become a poster child for idiots in office, starting with its uber-governor, John Kasich.

Tea Baggers, it seems, are alive and well, within this otherwise beautiful and friendly state.

Take John Husted. Please. This piece of shit fucked over the whole state as a legislator. Not once, but twice. No, make that three times. It must be his charm.

The first time? Husted was leading the legislature when he torpedoed a steel mill investment that would have brought thousands of jobs to Ohio.

The second? Husted, as a fool-fledged, Catholic member of the Tea Bagger Troup of morans, decided to protect the Church instead of the hundreds of victims of childhood sexual abuse by priests.

Now? this one is the doozy. In order to protect the white vote, he decided to screw minorities, working women, and liberals, cutting back on access to the voting booth ONLY IN THOSE AREAS THAT VOTE D.

This was too much for even our conservative Federal Courts. The District court judge ruled that Husted's clearly partisan orders were not legal.

fter being summoned to court by a federal judge, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted on Friday backed away from his order that would have banned counties from planning for early voting.

Husted’s original order had essentially ignored a ruling by U.S. District Judge Peter Economus, who declared that the state couldn’t take away early voting in the three days before the election. Economus sided with the Obama campaign, which sued Ohio to get the early voting re-implemented.

In a court filing on Friday afternoon, Husted said he “apologizes to the federal district court” for creating what he called the “misimpression” that he was ignoring the order. “The Secretary would never intentionally contravene an order issued by the federal district court or any other court — and this case is no exception,” the filing said.

That, in a nutshell, is the Ryan/Romney plan for this country.

Social services, investments, infrastructure, even scientific and artistic progress - this is the whole purpose of America. It even says so in the preamble. (that's the Constitution of the United States, for those Koch-based life forms and trolls who seem to be handing around the water fountain of late)

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the General Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.


Them's some powerful words. Only 54 or so, of them, but wow, what an impact. Here's how the Ryan/Romney campaign has perceived them:

We the Corporate controllers of the United States, in order to eradicate all unions, purchase Justice, insure private takeover of all public functions, to overpay for the Military Industrial Complex, to erase all signs of welfare or the general good, to insist on Blessings from the Church we tell you and each and every sperm and ova of you to follow in the future, do bless and ordain those parts of the Constitution that we may, from time to time, deem appropriate and useful, while we ignore the rest of the pesky, ancient crap that some elder deists put together on the fly.

The rumor that Romney called them "Dumb Polacks" has not been confirmed.

After all, who could imagine that the man who criticizes Obama for saying society plays a role in people's successes, after which he says the same thing, or who insults the British on Olympic Security, forgets the Labor leader's name, and manages to piss off the conservative PM, or who initially resisted visiting Israel because there were too many jews there, WHO could imagine him saying anything like "Dumb Polacks?"

So before people go around quoting Mitt Romney calling them Dumb Polacks, I suggest that you dig deeper into the story. After all, without clear proof that Romney called them Dumb Polacks remains unfounded.

Where have all the spineless DINOs gone?

I can't say that I am sorry, but I keep thinking that some POS DINOsauer is going to attack Obama for going on the offensive.

Ed Rendell did, and he even went so far as to claim that the Bain attacks were wrong, even counter productive. Someone shut him up, finally. Even that DINO lightweight, on mourning jo, Harold Ford, shut up about it.

Even better, the Democrats are uniting on the attacks and the obvious issues that Mittster's hilarious stonewalling has raised. My gosh, it is as though we are beginning to act together. What happened to the old Democrats, stabbing each other in the back, afraid of their own shadows, afraid of criticizing a GOPer, lest they be accused of being traitors, or worse, liberals?

What backup systems do you use?

I like time capsule, automatic, fast, and has multiple levels of prior versions. I don't use it often, but, damn, when needed it is great.
I also back up to an external drive, a large Iomega drive, that holds more than enough I ever need, (I could even use it as an external drive, but no need so far. Between the two I will not be stuck where I was a few years ago, crashed computer, dead in the water, without an oar to piss on. A drop to drink? Without any backup. That was tough.

So what do you use?
External HD?
TimeCapsule?
some cloud based backup system?
DVDs?
Nothing?

PS, if it nothing, you need to change your ways.
