It pisses me off to no end when Repukes say low-paid workers don't deserve a living wage.

"Have minimal skills, work a minimum job, you get minimum wage" is what I've heard from conservatives who think their high-paying job makes them better than everyone else. They all need a reality check.

I work at Walmart as a cashier, and have been for the past 10+ years. They have recently made some improvements in their pay scale, in which workers making less that $10 an hour will be making that by February of 2016.

However, these changes don't affect me and other associates who have gotten a raise every year and make above the $10/hour limit. Even though my pay isn't much over $10, this still won't effect me at all.

And don't get me started on those who are working minimum wage jobs elsewhere(fast food places, and restaurants where workers depend mostly on tips). Republicans don't care about them, either.

Workers like us are lower than pond scum to Repukes, and they say we don't deserve a living wage because we work "minimal" jobs with "minimal" skills. Sorry, but I can't afford to go back to college and improve my skills. I have a car payment, car insurance, a cell phone bill, and I help my mother with the bills every month(yes, I'm 34 years old and still live at home, can't afford to move out on my own) I also have several mental and physical disabilities that would likely prevent me from improving my skills as much as I want.

I'm a week away from getting paid and I'm forced to eat Ramen noodles at work for the next week because it's all I can afford. And Repukes think I should make less? Sorry, but we need a $15.00/hr living wage in this country. Sad that it won't happen because Repukes will always fight it tooth and nail. It just isn't fair to the millions of low-paid workers like myself just scraping to get by.

Apologies for the long post. Just needed to vent.

Super Bowl XLVII -- a homophobe's worst nightmare.

On one side, you have the San Francisco 49ers -- a team from the gay capital of the US, if not the world. On the other side, you have the Baltimore Ravens -- a team from the largest city of a state whose voters recently approved marriage equality, and a linebacker who has been very vocal about his support of marriage equality.

What's a homophobic NFL fan to do?

As for me, I'm just enjoying the game, and will be thrilled no matter who wins.

I'm so tired of the Republican meme, "if you work hard, you can achieve anything"

Really?

Tell that to the single mom who has to work two minimum-wage part-time jobs to feed herself and her children, and sometimes she still goes to bed hungry at night.

Tell that to the Iraq vet who comes home and can't get a job because of his extreme PTSD, and has to live on the streets.

Tell that to the recent college grad who has to take a low-paying job she's over-qualified for because she can't find a job in her chosen field. She has to live with her parents because she can't afford a place of her own due to enormous student loan debts.

All these people want is a good life, and to get ahead in life for once, and Republicans tell them, "well you just aren't working hard enough".

Republicans' motto should be, "I've got mine, so FUCK YOU!".

I for one, am tired of busting my butt every day, for my meager paycheck, only to be told "I'm not working hard enough."

My lunch break is almost over, so I'm going to end my rant here. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

the GOP are putting all these women on stage

trying to prove they really do care about women, and that women should vote for them..

However, women won't forget Akin's "legitimate rape" comment, or Paul Ryan supporting an anti-abortion bill that included the term "forcible" rape.

Women know the next President will likely appoint 2-3 Supreme Court Justices, and that Rmoney would not hesitate to nominate justices who would overturn Roe vs. Wade and force women back into the back alley, where more women will die from illegal, botched, abortions.

The GOP can bring out as many women as they want tonight, but it won't change the fact that Romney will throw women under the bus if he is elected. However, women aren't as stupid as the GOP think we are, and we aren't going to give Romney the chance to throw us under the bus... mark my words, it will be the GOP war on women that will end up costing Romney the Presidency, and possibly costing the GOP the House, too.
