Bernie staying in the race benefits Hillary

We will get over a month to watch trumpy the nominee. Hillary will get a free month of the preview before she really has to dig in against him. She can release and anti-trumpy ad here and there, but can largely ignore him as long as the Dem primary is going on.

No other Dem will ignore him. He's facing a full frontal assault from the Dems. At the same time the goppers are dividing up and chooses sides. The party has been ripped in two. Every living republican president or presidential nominee has come out against him and are not attending the convention.

We'll get to see him get the different scrutiny that comes with being a nominee. Hillary isn't really spending much money or energy on the waning days of the Democratic Primary, compared to the past couple months. To the extent possible, she's resting and preparing to utterly destroy trump.

Bernie is providing cover. He's rounding up some more delegates to support his policies in the platform, he's bringing in new voters, too, but Hillary benefits from him playing this out.

Nearly half of Americans plan to vote for Hillary or Trump just to torpedo the other candidate

The U.S. presidential election may turn out to be one of the world's biggest un-popularity contests.

Nearly half of American voters who support either Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump for the White House said they will mainly be trying to block the other side from winning, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Thursday.

The results reflect a deepening ideological divide in the United States, where people are becoming increasingly fearful of the opposing party, a feeling worsened by the likely matchup between the New York real estate tycoon and the former first lady, said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.

“This phenomenon is called negative partisanship,” Sabato said.

“If we were trying to maximize the effect, we couldn't have found better nominees than Trump and Clinton.”

Hillary forces target Bush donors

Hillary Clinton’s supporters in recent days have been making a furious round of calls to top Bush family donors to try to convince them that she represents their values better than Donald Trump, multiple sources in both parties told POLITICO.

The moves come as Clinton and the Democratic Party try to take advantage of deep unease among establishment Republicans on Wall Street and elsewhere with Trump’s emergence as the presumptive Republican nominee.

Top targets for the Clinton team include people like Woody Johnson, Jeb Bush’s former finance chair and the owner of the New York Jets. In recent days, Bush’s brother and father, former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, have said they plan to skip Trump’s nominating convention.

One person close to Clinton said supporters of the former secretary of state drew up a list of Wall Street donors who supported Jeb Bush and other unsuccessful Republican candidates months ago but wanted to wait until Trump locked down the nomination before beginning to make the calls.

“When you think about it there is no downside to making these calls, including for Hillary herself to make then,” this person said. “They may say no but they will talk to her for half an hour about their view of the world and probably say nice things when asked about her publicly. And they might stay away from Trump.”

Trumps Veep committee is being run by Ben Carson

The people publicly mentioned on his short list have either declined or attacked him previously.

This should be good.

I don't like Hillary's "Stop Trump" ad or argument. It assumes he is the default winner

and that it is up to HIllary to stop him.

That is poor framing that empowers and elevates Trump. He doesn't have to be "stopped." That was the republican fight, to stop him from becoming the nominee. For the general election it is promoting Democratic policies. It is perfectly fine to hammer the dangerous of the republicans and Trump, in particular. But, we aren't "stopping" trump. He is not the presumptive winner of the White House to be challenged. He is not an incumbent president.

You can bet you ass if Bernie were leading in PDs, Hillary Camp would be screaming contested.

They would say: McGovern and Mondale. They would argue that the super delegates need to be activated to prevent a nominee who will win only one state. They would say this is what the super delegates are there for: to stop a radical fringe candidate.

You can catch glimpses of this. They are honest about what role the super delegates should play, to prevent a candidate too far afield of their definition of middle electoral America. And they repeat incessantly that Bernie is a fringe candidate, protest candidate, promising free shit, unicorn farts and rainbow cookies. If Bernie were up by a mere 100 or 200 or even 300 pledged delegates, it would be-- we need the super delegates to stop this mistake.

Has a mathematically eliminated candidate ever announced a running mate before?

What bizarre world are we in. Cruz was mathematically eliminated last night. I know he's hoping to block the first round trump vote and more power to him. By he was mathematically eliminated and immediately thereafter announces his running mate! Just think about where this 2016 race is going.

Juror leaking on open juries?

It seems that that is possible that while a juror is serving on an open jury send a PM to the juried poster to tip them off. The juried can then self delete and avoid a hide. It's like insider trading or tag teaming for board disruptors.

I know you say changes are coming, so the point may be moot. If not, something to consider.

Seems an easy fix would be to disable PM ability while on a jury.

A Trump-Clinton general election poses a question: Who does America hate least?

Momentous victories in Tuesday’s primaries drove Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump ever closer to a November face-off in which the strongest argument each can make for election is the threat posed by the other.

Together, Clinton and Trump are the two most unpopular presidential candidates in memory, and both are moving to improve their images for the general election.

But they are so well-known, and operating in such a polarized political environment, that their efforts may only serve to tinker around the edges.

Both candidates issued calls to unity within their parties in their victory speeches Tuesday night, then aimed at each other. That suggested a general election battle of brutal negativity, which threatens to alienate voters and further increase partisan polarization.

The winner may be the candidate America hates the least.

It is simply beyond me that the dumb fuck republicans are nominating goddamn trump

He needs only 46% of the remaining delegates to clinch it. The other two dipshits are mathematically eliminated and can't even figure out how to run defense to block the first round vote.

They are a sack full of morons dead set on destroying our country on that side.
