But sudden stress on the grid can lead to brownouts,
Today is the day I'm heading into the office after my next TEAMs meeting. 20 years ago, I used to enjoy solar flare or excessive heat days; everyone but essential workers would be told to take the day off to save power. Work from home if you had a laptop or home network setup; otherwise, save energy before ENRON cut the state off...

But now, the majority of the office power comes from a massive solar panel farm covering all the building rooftops. Other than the main server rooms and some machinery spaces, everything is covered by solar.
So we don't get "brownout"/grid protection days off work during the summer anymore. Damn.
