"My friend on the other side of the aisle...." [View all]

That is the only part of any of those speeches from the floor of the Senate that matter. Think about those words. Really think about them.

While we allow the media to lead us into a public battle about racism or abortion or gay rights or immigrants or whatever wedge they want to use for that day to keep us from working together...... well while we are busy thrashing around those people in DC are selling our future off to the highest bidder plus doing anything they can to take all power away from their fellow citizens "on the other side of the aisle."

On your last day you'll hope and pray there is at least one person in the world to love you enough to hang around until the bitter end. But between then and the time we are born most of us just want a little bit of a fair shake in this life. We don't ask that damn much. And whether it's the folks next door who meet with a hard time or people who have been devastated by a tsunami on the other side of the world, most of us are quick to offer all the help we possibly can.

So when you hear those idiots in DC stand there and make a public statement that they are on opposites sides..... adversaries..... that's all you need to know. They aren't going to work for any common good except lining their own pockets with the wealth created by the sweat of your brow.

They aren't your friend. They will never be your friend.
