In reply to the discussion: Which is scarier?... [View all]Coventina
(27,245 posts)6. I saw part of the 700 Club the other day.
I was in a bar where they had it on with closed captioning.
(I have no idea why they had it on).
Anyway, Pat Robertson had Jay Sekulow on (I always think Suck-You-Low, because I'm really just 12 years old) who has managed to bang out a book on ISIS over the weekend, apparently.
Anyway, the whole segment was about pimping his book so they were talking about all the "scary secrets" we aren't being told and how Obama is getting ready to sell us out, etc. etc.
So, if this kind of fear mongering is going on a lot on the right, then I can see how people are fearful.
But, yeah, ebola is a much more immediate threat to the entire world.
Everyone is just one plane flight away from being infected.

Ebola is scary.....but it's highly unlikely to cause any problems in the U.S.

To the West? Neither. Overall? Hard to predict, but I guess ISIS if you go by death toll.

Ebola doesn't frighten me because I am in the US. I can completely understand your fear though.
