My husband is Union pipefitter/welder, and was out of work for most of 2008. I lost a profitable business of 10 years - also in 2008. We subsequently lost our home in the same year.

The last 3 years have been INFINITELY better, he's working consistently and I found a really good job. In fact, my position was actually created as a result of an Obama Administation initiative through HHS.
