In reply to the discussion: Keith Ellison: [View all]NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)129. Ugh. This is so tiresome.
Keith wanted the party to stop using corporate funding
I can't find anything that confirms that. I remember there was one also-rand candidate who wanted to ban "corporate funding" ... but if this was a centerpiece of Keith's campaign, he certainly failed as far as I'm concerned.
And the claim that Bernie was trying to "Take over", was based on the claim that, if Keith had somehow won, everyone who supported Hillary over Bernie would somehow have been made powerless.
I do not agree that anyone ever actually made that claim. The broader point is that an Ellison victory would be viewed as a victory-by-proxy and a continuation of the primary (and all the things that that entails... which has been endlessly discussed already.) Sarandon's endorsement of him didn't help either.
Thanks for admitting that that wouldn't have happened and that it's not possible for any one person to run this party as their, her, or his personal fief.
In order for me to "admit" something, I'd first have had to DENY it or made some other claim to the contrary. I've done neither. Please stop with the word games, Ken. You'll never win a "gotcha" word-game against me. I'm smarter than you think I am.
I said I don't think Bernie or Hillary should run again. You know perfectly well I was expressing my actual views when I said that.
No that's not what you said. When you get emotional and unnecessarily angry, your writing is not very clear at all, Ken.
Bernie will be 79 in 2020...he's not going to run again. Just trust that already.
It was a goddamn joke, Ken. I know exactly how old he is and how old he'll be. Jesus fuck! Lighten up! Of course he's not going to run again. I doubt he'll even run for Senate again but you never can tell. Still, I doubt it.
Can you explain why you're now expressing such cynicism towards Elizabeth Warren?
What cynicism? I have no idea what you're talking about? You'll have to be more specific than that.
You're implying that she's just another establishment insider, simply by virtue of the fact that she's won two terms in the Senate.
Well... she's a two-term senator... she's on the inside. That seems to be the very definition of what an insider is. (Bernie's an insider too. Do you deny that? Or do you want to play word games? Remember ... I'm smarter than you think I am.)
You sound as if you're transferring your feelings about Bernie to her. If I've got that wrong, where are you actually going with this?
I'm afraid I have no explanation for the things you imagine to be true. You're pretty much on your own when it comes to making sense of things that come from your own brain. I must admit, I'm at a complete loss.Edit history

But there seems to be a few trying really hard to keep up the schtick here on DU.
