Good news - if you fly to Tahiti, you must go either Air France or Air Tahiti (although you may take a domestic to LAX to make your connection to Tahiti), but if you fly either of the airlines that can land in Tahiti, you will get good on board service.

So there's that.

But yes - extra time is needed.
