The GOP will go nuclear and/or you can bet the farm that twitchy red state Dems will be voting "aye".

Best we can hope for is he's another Anthony Kennedy: will make some bad decisions but when push comes to shove tends to veer towards supporting and expanding civil liberties such as LGBT rights.
