Leave it to the Brits to address to American audiences what it was like in the 1860's... The whole period is portrayed so well, IMO.

We don't watch much drama, mostly political junkie and a few other high channels on cable, never premium, but this show's PREMIUM!

Oh, and during a Michigan/Notre Dam football game, I noticed the "fighting Irish"marching band took to playing the serie's theme.
