Where does it end ...only those of the same ethnicity as the author are allowed to post articles ? I was taught to utilise good ideas no matter where they come from , regardless of gender , race or religion . This identity politics is one of the main reasons I believe that honest discourse is becoming harder to initiate .

As for what others perceive I am not all that worried . If an idea can't stand up to discussion it's probably a bad idea no matter what the skin colour of the person offering the idea/argument .

Those who are still caught up with this "whitesplaining" narrative ( an offensive enough term in and of itself ) usually are trying to stop discussion and are berated to tow the line .

Why does skin colour indicate strength of opinion ? That is what I struggle with . Certainly there are issues related to individual groups of people but to exclude others from discussion is just as backwards as segregation and just as dangerous in my opinion .
