Are People really this stupid?
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 04:56 PM by BrentTaylor
Several veterans said in interviews here that they favored Bush, who served in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam years.

"Right now I believe the captain of the ship is guiding us and I don't feel we should change captains in the middle of a war," said Delfo Barabani, an American Legion member from Chicopee, Mass. Barabani said he believed Kerry had gone to Vietnam to lay the groundwork for his future political career.

Are there really fools who believe this man voluntereered to risk his life and go to Vietnam, thinking "This is a good idea, it will look good when I run for president in 30 yrs."

2. Yes!
They are the ones who enjoyed Vietnam. Killing "gooks" was their moment of glory. They think the war could have been won with a little more firepower and agent orange. They think the Vietnam War was justified, and they think the Iraq war is justified.

They are pretty fucking stupid!

Some of them are in my family. I fixed a computer for one of them a few days ago.

Un-cheneying-believable.

8. I hope you 'fixed' it like I would have.
I would have inserted code that would always set their home page to http://www.democrats.com, regardless of what they tried to set it to.

Here's a nice picture to set on their desktop as well:

5. change captains in the middle of a war
this implies that we are at the half way point. Didn't chimp predict another 10 years?

I have some cliches too: Good money after bad, beating a dead horse, swimming upstream....

6. Yes. Unquestionably.
Of course, their minds have been "softened up" by two decades of carpetbombing by Bushevik Party-Loyal Sub-Media which has the same intent and general purpose as Nazi or Soviet Totalitarian Medias.

I often wonder how long ago it actually was when the Imperial Subjects of Amerika stopped deserving freedom.

Now, events are finally catching up with teh reality of the situation.

11. That would make Kerry dumber than Bush.
My boss told me Bush had his own camera crew in VietNam. I laughed and asked if he served. I told him anyone that volunteered to go over is a man of his convictions and deserves our deepest respect and honor.

12. I've run into that argument
"Can't change leaders in a time of war." So we should have ignored Nixon and kept Johnson? Just say "Fuck the Constitution"?

Fucking idiots.

Look how fat we are as a nation

Look how many people smoke

Look at the fact that heroine use is again on the rise

Look at people who still build homes in fire/earthquake/flood/tornado plains

Look how much energy people put into following sports

Look at how many SUV's are on the road

Look how many poor people continue to re-produce with no hope of any kind of decent life for their kids (you are entitled to one get off the hook here BTW - ONE)

Yes - people are that stupid.....

17. It's propaganda!
Watched a great documentary last night:

Hijacking Catastrophe, 9/11, Fears & the Selling of American Empire
Media Education Foundation

When people are constantly fed lies, they believe it. It sounds so simple and we bitch about it all the time on DU but when people only get their news from TV, they simply become brainwashed. Add the so-called RW Christian fanatics and it adds another layer to the problems we are facing.

This documentary should be seen by every single American, it discusses PNAC, our faux media, shock and awe (written many years ago), etc. and it needs to be shown to anybody who supports this regime.
