Web design query.. Tables question

Suppose I have created two different sized tables, (but
width-wise, it's uniform), but I can't get it to match up on
the same line.

See this as an example:

What would you suggest me to do to get both the purple and the
yellow tables to be on the same line

(like this)

Instead of:

|         |
|         |
|         |

-----------
|         |
|         |
|         |
|         |
|         |
|         |
|         |

I want it to look like this:

|         ||         |
|         ||         |
|         ||         |
|         ||         |
|         ||         |

           |         |
           |         |
           -----------


So, what is the best way to do it?

1. Create a third table

Create a third table with one TR row and two td cells inside the row. Put the first table inside the first td, and the second table inside the second. If you want them aligned at the top, put VALIGN="TOP" in the two td tags, or vertical-align : top (I think) in your cascading style sheets.
