Amazing Race watchers (spoiler)...
I missed last night's episode, but I heard that Victoria and the Jerk were eliminated. How did it happen? Did The Jerk freak out?

4. they misread a clue...
they had to walk two donkeys three miles at the end of the leg...the dumbasses were bickering as usual, with miss vicky whining and whining about her feet hurting, and they misread the clue and only took one donkey- they didn't discover the mistake ubtil they got to the end of the three miles- so they had to go all the way back and come back with the other donkey. (6 miles xtra, 3 of them with a donkey)
CBS tried to edit it like there was actually a chance they could make it, but it was obvious that they were screwed.

I was really hoping that kendra and her guy would get axed- i can't stand that bi-otch.

5. They are way better than Adam and Rebecca
Adam and Rebecca are jus too much drama. They need to go home and split up their stuff because it's over. I'm so tired of Adam getting frustrated then Rebecca reminding him over and over again when he messed up. I'll take Freddy and Kendra any day over A & R. At least this could be growing experience for Kendra. Freddy seems pretty well balanced.

10. I don't know about Kendra
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 10:30 AM by Mike Daniels
Her reaction to her first African experience totally turned me off.

She seemed to redeem herself a bit in Ethiopia (at least she didn't treat the natives as contagious plague carriers) but I wouldn't root for her to win even if it had come down to her team and Jonathan in the final.

On another note, how incompetent do you have to be to come in behind the team you yielded (Adam and Rebecca finishing behind Freddy and Kendra) at the final task?

14. She's a bigot.
A stereotypical ugly American. Hearing her say "they just keep on breeding" when they were first in Africa just disgusted me.

You just know she voted for the chimp.

19. Exactly. She showed her true colors then
and it left an impression on me. It was like, "oh these dirty, stinky people and their poverty - yuck! They are just so disgusting!"

Nice.

This is a good example of why this is the only reality show I watch. You get to see how different people react to the reality of the world. Kendra showed herself to be a pampered little, selfish, rich girl (yes! she probably voted for Shrub; I was thinking the same thing!) whose only reflection after experiencing that extreme poverty was how distasteful it was to HER. She was just upset that SHE had to experience it. These people live it every day and all she could do was bitch about it. I want her eliminated so bad now!

If you ask me, this is the only reality show worth watching. Sure, it's a competition, but it's also sort of a Sociology experiment. I've noticed they're putting them into more and more uncomfortable situations and it's interesting to see who cracks and who deals with it. Jonathan showed that it didn't really matter what his surroundings were, he was going to remain a jerk no matter what. I am so glad I don't have to watch him anymore. Then again, at least he tried to talk to the people in all these different places. I never saw him criticize them for their poverty. Interesting.

20. But he probably capitalized on it.
He played smart to the extent that he always found a guide which alllowed them to navigate more easily while driving.

He apparently paid off the guides but how much?

I know these shows edit to make for more interesting viewing but something tells me that J/V weren't that far off from the way editing portrayed them.

6. My wife hates Kendra too...
Her respect for the Ethiopians was good to hear, but generally, Kendra seems to be "Today's Ugly American" (as opposed to "Today's Top Model")

Hey, she's a Reagan republican. Probably listens to Rush Limbaugh also.

17. I think she listens to the voices in her head
I don't think she's politically astute. Freddy seems to be intelligent. So, what's he doing with her?

16. Relatively speaking...
Remember what she said that other African city? (?)

"They live like this and just breed and breed"

It sounded like she took a step up to me.

9. he didin't really drag the donkey...
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 10:22 AM by CarpeVeritas
jonathan decided that they needed a guide for the leg, so he basically kidnapped a woman from the side of the road(apparently there weren't any drug dealers available this time), getting her into their van...when they were doing the donkey thing, john and miss vicky wlked ahead, while their indentured servant took care of walking the donkey.

13. That alone should have eliminated them from the competition
The commentary on last week's episode from TV w/o Pity commented on J/V breaking the rules during the wine stomping exercise by using their hands when instructions said "feet only". No penalty assessed at the end of the leg.

Fortunately karma finally caught up with them.
