Nevermind the fact that Congress, the White House, Supreme Court building, Lincoln Memorial, and a lot of other important American buildings have the same architectural style.

It did sort of look Parthenon-esque in the VERY early stages, in the first photos. Now it's quite obviously invoking the style of Washington DC.

Where are the roots of Democracy?

There's nothing wrong with evoking civic centers in this very civic event.

And to those who criticize the style, remind them of the countless train stations, post offices, and other civic buildings throughout the country that are neoclassical in design.

I seem to remember a Marriott Courtyard in Fairfax county with Doric Columns....

I've been to a couple big stadium concerts, and it's almost impossible to see the stars from the back row.
