Bunning/Mongiardo Debate to air on C-SPAN 2 tomorrow at 9 PM
This is a very odd debate, worth watching... I'm watching it on local tv at this moment, but I also noticed it is scheduled for C-SPAN2 tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern. Bunning is making a fool out of himself, and (hopefully) he is hurting his campaign by appearing in this debate (in which he has admitted to cheating in).

1. Besides the cheating
They gave Bunning a distinguished backdrop of law books and flag while the moderator and the Dem looked not so hot- as local TV is wont to do. Bunning fumbled and stuttered and seemed to be reaching to speak even common names like Bush and Putin.

Comparisons to W in all these regards are not flattering and even work in tandem to reinforce the impression of unfitness and cheating and irascible weirdness.

I don't know Kentucky, but Bunning, like Bunnypants, is no Reagan. Allow me to doubt the majority of voters will make allowances for this embarrassing spectacle.

2. I watched that last night
along with the Obama/Keyes debate. Did Bunning do it via sat because he couldn't be there or just because he was going to use a teleprompter? He must have said "My family" about 100 times.

3. Well...
the OFFICIAL excuse was because he couldn't be there, but honestly, I think he did it more for the access to the teleprompter.

By the way, Scripps Howard was the one that actually handled the satellite stuff. They taped Bunning's part of the interview, had a camera person in the studio at the time, and after Bunning was accused of reading from a teleprompter (but before Bunning admitted that he did), Scripps Howard ASSURED everybody that Bunning did NOT read from a teleprompter. And the right-wing nuts say the media is "liberal"....

4. I finally caught it!
Jim Bunning seems to think he understands the probess better. Mongiardo made it clear Bunning is a rubber stamp.
