Hey Kentucky, ya'll know about this?
Here's a fun new attraction. It's in rural Kentucky, and it's not finished yet, but you can already take a virtual walk-through tour online and wonder at the marvels yet to come. It's the Creation Museum, the first museum dedicated to proving that the Bible is literally true and that so-called "scientists" are just kidding themselves.

Read all about it here: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/01/07/DDG1KAM50M1.DTL

2. oh yes, we know, and how about this....
it's located near what's called Big Bone Lick State Park, a site for paleonology in direct opposition to the Creationists...here's the site for the state park

http://www.state.ky.us/agencies/parks/bigbone.htm

But that is in keeping with our cognitive dissonance. We're proud of our horse racing traditions, but don't support expanded casino-type gambling on moral grounds; we're proud of our bourbon (best in the land) but more than 1/2 of our counties are dry. Even Bourbon County is dry. And of course, we've gone from a solid 30 year tradition of democratic majority to a solid "red" state!

5. My bad
I thought Bourbon Co was dry. It does seems more and more counties/towns are going "moist" in the past few years. I hope I'm remembering correctly that the county is actually named for an individual, not the drink??

6. Yup, named after the King of France.
He was of the Bourbon dynasty, and an area of KY and VA was named "Bourbon County" in his honor for helping with the revolutionary war. Now, only Bourbon County KY remains of the name.

8. don't feel lonely; there is a Creationist Museum here in Texas too, and
it also is right next door to a well known paleontology site: Dinosaur State Park, in Glen Rose Texas...

you can wade/swim in the river and see the dinosaur tracks, three different varieties.

So just outside the state park, on private property is the Creationist Museum, which claims to have human footprints and dinosaur footprints alongside one another in the same strata.

Balderdash, hogwash, clap trap and gutter rubbish!

My husband the geologist laughs himself silly every time we think about that one.

I really expected to find that the KY Creationist museum was going to be near Mammoth Cave...certainly a good traffic area...I am relieved to hear that it is not.

Former Kentuckian and caver that I am, I don't want my favorite cave area trashed up any more than necessary.

but have you heard of the transpark that they are building next door to Mammoth Cave in Warren County? I won't argue with the fact that Bowling Green needs jobs, but there are better sites than this.

Transpark is needed for jobs. I doubt they'll stop it but why? People need the jobs. I can't get a job now. Does anyone know if Warren Co. is biased against people that graduated from universities other than KY ones or WKU? (Email me or leave a message, please) Had a damn hard time getting a job in the past 2 years. Ecept that temp job (Dell sucks).

I have no problem with creationists, except for the fact that many of them are anti-Catholic.

18. Pope
Some Pope decided that science was a threat to his power er faith and tried to hold it back. Since then, Christians have been uneasy about science at least the fundies. Now it seems the fundies are continuing that tradition.

The Lord has put together a team of people from a variety of backgrounds but with one commonality: all are a part of the Museum construction project because of a desire to show people that the Bible is reliable in every way.

When does this thing open? Not much info on their website
