1. This is a fantasy show, involving elements from Fairy Tales
Not sure why you jump to 'glorifies the PPB'. It is clearly not even based in reality.

2. read the article. PPB is supplying uniforms and consultants...
despite the fact that it is a fantasy-based show, that sounds like glorification to me. This isn't going to be Buffy, it's not even going to be The Dresden Files. It's a show where cops= heroes and everyone else is a monster of a victim. It's not only a bad and false message to send, but my tax money is paying to send it to the world.

And that pisses me right the fuck off.

4. You must have hated the Law and Order series.
Fuck those TV cops arresting murderers and rapist!

Hell you must have viewed "A Few Good Men" as a Goebbels-style propaganda piece.

3. Fantasy show.
"The show will be a drama called "Grimm,” as in Grimm’s Fairy Tales. It’s a pilot about a detective who starts seeing certain people as beasts and then discovers that his calling in life is to protect other people from them."

A fantasy show that takes place in Portland having actors portraying PPB officers wearing PPB uniforms isn't glorification.

5. you might be right, but color me skeptical. And yeah, I had issues with...
Law and Order. Well crafted drama, but it gave a generation of people a completely false (and in some cases their only) impression of the legal system.

6. Probably want to tune in to Portlandia on IFC channel if you want a better Portland show...
I think all of the first season episodes were shot last fall there. Skit comedy with a lot of local Portland references (New Seasons dumpster diving, etc.).

7. Love that show!
Glad it was renewed for another six episodes. It follows the Onion News--so makes for an hour of good laughs that doesn't conflict with TDS and Colbert Report. I also like Leverage, which has been filmed in Portland. Some fun viewing for this Central Oregonian!
