I know many of us here in Portland want more sun, but too much too soon might be a problem...

The Columbia river water levels have been pretty high lately and some flooding has happened in some parts along the river banks, and many recreation areas and beaches have been flooded or closed off. A far cry from the weather messes happening to the east of us now, but as this article notes, we'll probably be OK with this big spring runoff as long as it doesn't get too warm too quickly and bring more water down that would put us over certain safety thresholds here.

So for the warm days, if you are heading to some place along the river, check first to make sure that the water levels aren't too high in those areas to avoid wasting a trip.
