Father Of Jackson Accuser Found Dead Of Apparent Suicide
By ANDREW RAMOS wpix.com
2:58 PM EST, November 17, 2009

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WPIX) - The father of a boy who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him 15 years ago was found dead of an apparent suicide, Jersey City Police confirmed to PIX News.

According to authorities, the body of Evan Chandler was discovered in his Jersey City residence at about 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 5 after he went missing.

Chandler, who was being treated for an unknown illness, missed an appointment with his doctor which prompted concern, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said.

After several failed attempts to get in touch with his patient, the doctor, who was not immediately identified, called the building's concierge to check on Chandler.

The concierge later discovered the victim's lifeless body inside the apartment at the Liberty Towers located on Hudson Street, Eason said.

Police say Chandler suffered a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head. Authorities are treating the case as a suicide.

It was back in 1994, when Chander's then-12-year-old son Jordy Chandler accused Jackson of molesting him on several occasions between 1991 and 1994. The father and son went after the King of Pop in court and later settled the case for a reported $20 million.

1. I could say I'm sorry to hear this.
But I'd be lying.

3. There are no coincidences. Only consequences. And suicide no less. GUILT, maybe?
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 07:07 PM by Triana
Money indeed does not buy happiness. Too bad this miserable schmuck destroyed an innocent man for MONEY and it got him - this. I hope it was from HIS GUILT for having destroyed Michael's life and starting the chain of events that eventually lead to Michael's death.

Karma indeed. It doesn't bring Michael back - but I have to say that to me, it's good news that this evil creature is no longer on the planet.

4. I think Jackson was one weird soul,
but I don't think he was a child molester. What a sad story, all the way around.

DEPICTIONS OF ECCENTRICITY

Eccentricity is often associated with genius, giftedness, or creativity. The individual’s eccentric behavior is perceived to be the outward expression of his or her unique intelligence or creative impulse.<1> In this vein, the eccentric’s habits are incomprehensible not because they are illogical or the result of madness, but because they stem from a mind so original that it cannot be conformed to societal norms.

Edith Sitwell wrote:

“Eccentricity is not, as some would believe, a form of madness. It is often a kind of innocent pride, and the man of genius and the aristocrat are frequently regarded as eccentrics because genius and aristocrat are entirely unafraid of and uninfluenced by the opinions and vagaries of the crowd.”

6. I think, besides being a genius,
Jackson had a wretched, awful father, and an terrible childhood.

8. That too...and he was nowhere as "weird" as the media defined him
the media delighted in telling lies about the guy for fun and profit:

he bought the elephant man's bones
he slept in an oxygen chamber
he bleached his skin 'cause he didn't wanna be black...

yadda
yadda
yadda

...they never stopped. Still haven't.

He WAS a big kid - because he never had a daggone childhood - so he had one as an adult. It's what people don't get. There was nothing nefarious in what he did. He was just another kid when he was around them.

11. yeah
I read that he and Jordan were estranged, as the dad attacked Jordan with a barbell.

Jordan took a restraining order out on him, and wouldn't speak to him anymore.

19. No, I was not. Suicide is very tragic under any circumstance
Once I found out what happened, I had nothing else to say about him because it would be in God's hands now. The only thing I mentioned was if it was karma. Other comments are about what he did when he was living and the hell he put MJ and his family through.
