Live Action Movie Review - Duel to the Death
My last movie review was removed from the site, I'll try to be softer this time. Sorry everyone!

Country of origin: China and South Korea

Year: 1983

Genre: Ninja

Story: China and Japan plan a sword fight between their two best swordsman. The sword fight is kind of like the Olympics, except only two countries participate and the looser dies. The two competing sword masters meet and discuss their philosophies on life and fighting. Meanwhile, ninjas keep messing with everything. Who sent the ninjas and what are they up to?

Acting: Average

Humor: Duel to the Death has some funny moments, but I am not sure if those moments were meant to be funny.

Violence: Lots of bloody sword violence.

Sex: Duel to the Death features several different ninja types, one of which is the nude female ninja. Brief, but still awesome.

Overall: Fantastic movie. I highly recommend Duel to the Death to anyone who loves ninjas. This is one of the best ninja movies I have seen.

The guy in orange is the Japanese sword master
and the guy in tan is the Chinese sword master.

Ouch!

2. A little word trivia for you...
According to my old Japanese professor, the word kunoichi was a code based off of the kanji "Onna" which is the kanji for woman.

Japanese has three different sets of symbols, hirigana, katakana, and kanji.

The stroke which looks like a "<" is the letter "Ku" in hirigana.
The stroke which looks like a "/" is the letter "No" in katakana.
The stroke which looks like a "-" is the character "Ichi" in kanji.

Ku No Ichi = Kunoichi

3. You had one of your reviews pulled? I'm sorry to hear this as I have
always enjoyed them and never found them offensive.

5. Thank you, I am glad someone likes my short reviews.
The picture I posted below my pulled review showed an act of violence against a child. In retrospect, I realize the photo was too disturbing for DU. I completely understand the mods point of view and their decision to pull my last review.

4. That's pretty cool. However...
My knowledge of Japanese is limited to Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, so cool etymological interplays like this are lost on me, alas.
