I've been out of town working a trade show and haven't been able to watch this.

I'll probably buy the DVD set.

Has anyone watched??? Thoughts??

1. I saw most of the first episode
It was very good, actually, and pulled the interesting trick of viewing the history from the eyes of the slaves. For example, it told of the life of Jupiter, a slave of Thomas Jefferson's who literally grew up as his playmate (they were the same age) and ended up as his valet for his entire life.

The early history of how the slave system came to be law was the most interesting to me, because I know the least about it.

2. I watched the first episode and have the second on tape, although I
haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

In combination with "500 Nations" (referred to in my post above), it emphasizes the truth of my sig line.

3. I watched it
and found it quite interesting and sad. Slavery was a brutal institution. I was glad that they showed what an important role slave labor played in the development of this country.

4. Due to time constraints, I couldn't watch the entire series;
You can, however, purchase "Slavery And The Making of America" on DVD.

You can also look it up on PBS channel guide via your zip code.

I look forward to my delivery!

Peace!
