Store front or something eaiser?
A friend wants to offer a few videos PPV on his site. First I thought "store front".
But that's probably overkill. What can he use?

1. He could probably setup an Amazon store
On his own site he could include watermarked, lo-res versions of the first 30 seconds or so of the videos (or maybe a "trailer" type video). Then, the premium content could be purchased through his Amazon store. People tend to trust Amazon or one of the other big sites over smaller sites. Then, he could have a link from his site to his Amazon store (or even better, a link directly to the purchase page) that said something like "Buy this video now from our Amazon store."

I helped a friend setup an Amazon store a couple of years ago, and while I don't remember the specifics, I do remember that it was remarkably easy to do. And I'm fairly certain that they allow for the selling of video-on-demand products. The downside is that Amazon takes a cut - the upside is that they take care of all the difficult parts of the whole "storefront" setup - SSL certificates, shopping cart software, merchant accounts, security, payment collections, etc.

Paypal's also a possibility, but since I got ripped off three times by people abusing their crappy system, I quit recommending it.

2. Amazon is a good idea.
I also thought about some kind of page set up with passord required. But upon reflection, it seems like he would need to change the password every day, and that's too labor intensive for someone who travels a lot...
