1. I just looked... my books are old, my bookmarks are old.
I'd go with the online tutorials, or you end up like me, with stacks of old computer books. They don't age well.

Some of my old favorite javascript sites don't seem to be around anymore.

You can probably find tutorials as well as I can, but you mean something like this?
